While the new look is in line with Metro/Win8, modern, sparse, etc., the increased vertical space around forum posts causes one to be able to view less than content than before. This (at least for developers seeking content) is not a good thing. Please note, I'm not pixel whining - I'm drawing attention to a productivity killer.

My guess is that people will generally either love or hate the design, but I'm somewhere in the middle: The general layout is much more modern and looks good (great job guys).
But I do have to complain about some fonts and colors as I'm finding that some of it is very hard to read. This won't bother everybody (my mummy says I'm special) but a slight increase in contrast would be very helpful if you're at all able to?
(or can someone maybe suggest some way I can tweak the colors in my own browser automatically every time I visit? I know I can do it each time with built in web dev tools but I've no idea how to make it happen every time without me doing that extra work)

I'll second that.

I wish there was an option to choose a theme(old look and new one).

You stole my thought!
Can we please have a configuration setting to choose the one we want to? You can default the setting to new one. Chris?

Not in the plans I'm afraid.

Noooooo...... We just got rid of the old one - it felt tired - let's give the new UI a chance to run in. I think it's a breath of fresh air.

Somehow you are right. I just missed the old look.

While I don't like the oh so PC pastel scheme I think the contrast issues and the vertical padding are important issues that need to be addressed.
I deliberately worked against the knee jerk reaction to the change (it is different) but I still think the UI needs some tweaking.

Oh undoubtedly it does. I see this as a mass beta test in the Google way.

After browsing the new look for sometime, I feel the biggest pain is to scroll a lot to see entire page text. Earlier, we had very little to scroll but right now, it looks half the page is still left and I need to scroll and scroll to see entire page.
For now, it looks like too much texts all around and scroll adds to the problem.

I got two confirmation emails. I clicked the link I've copied the link from message. It is in form: http://www.codeproject.com/script_/Membership/ConfirmEmail.aspx?tg=##### and the error I get is:
Page Not Found
Unfortunately the page you requested was not found.
Best regards,
Beniamin.

Remove the "_" from the address.
I'll check our code to see if an extraneous _ snuck in, but for now, manually adjusting the URL should get you by.

Needs more space between the ordinal number and the user name - at the moment they look like:
0Sergey Alexandrovich Kryukov 815
1CPallini 465
2Sandeep Mewara 405
3Espen Harlinn 355
4Marcus Kramer 255
0 Sergey Alexandrovich Kryukov 815
1 CPallini 465
2 Sandeep Mewara 405
3 Espen Harlinn 355
4 Marcus Kramer 255 Would look better.

Yeah. Just noticed it and came to report.
Further, right now, while replying you I see your signature as a part of the question.
Other bug: separator missing in the message while replying. It's confusing.

|
|

See what you mean - it needs a separator between the message body and the name and sig section.

When using the forums, you've got to click the title instead of the div to expand and all.
Nothing serious, just felt like mentionning it.

It's always been this way, but it should be easy enough to fix.

I'd like it to be more obvious which is the first message in a thread. Just making it bold isn't enough in my opinion.
And just like we earlier could choose between static and dynamic flow, could we have an option between a more compact design and wasting space?

Still there! Same place, probably just the different font.
