It is not a report, but just a question to the people who usually use this forum (ok it can be seen as a rant as well, but I don't think it belongs to lounge).
How come that lately so much new users are weaking up questions from years ago? Last one I saw was answering to a question of may 2010
I mean... I could have understood someone searching for a solution to a problem that see a similar question and ask there, posting a non-solution and waking it up to the top. Not correct, but somehow more plausible.
But actually going to a question of 2 years ago, I don't know how many pages back in the Limbo... and answering it (I don't get into the quality or correction of the answer)... It is something I can not understand.
What do you think about? I usually just say "Did you notice that the topic is from XXXX", but... it is somehow a bit annoying, don't you think?
Regards.

This tip here looks like SPAM to me: SkinWin
Any other opinions on this?
Cheers!

I reported it as plagarism.
It's a copy of the documentation on the website where you can download the SkinWin library.

I don't know why... but my antivirus is jumping out with the message "access denied" each time I open this tip/trick.

Good catch!
If you get an email telling you that you can catch Swine Flu from tinned pork then just delete it. It's Spam.

Marked as Spam.
Can't we just delete the question? It would be much easier and quicker that way.

Reporting it as spam has another background things running than just deleting it.

We could, but without the question, there is no way for other users to flag the account as "spammer". We want the account closed as well, which requires separate Spam reports - which is why we provide links to the offending message, and the person posting it.

I can't see it (maybe is something trivial, but I am not so oft in the non-approved articles)

It's still there, but it may be a rep numbers problem that you can't see it - I'm not sure what level you need and the guide only suggests 500 Organiser to Moderate, which you have.

Can you normally see articles for approval?

Didn't try so oft. My knowledge level is not so big to consider approving or editing articles before going "live", so I am not used to. Where can I find unnaproved articles to check? I am having a look to the section "latest articles" but I don't see any unnaproved to check it.
[edit]
In the latest articles list there is a codification with (N) new, (U) updated, (M) moved... Is there any tag like that for the not approved?
Regards.

If your rep is high enough, then look at the Home page: http://www.codeproject.com/[^] on the right hand side, under "Our Community" is the Articles, Blogs and Tips awaiting approval list. If you rep is too low, then you won't see it at all - it will drop to "Cast Your Vote".

"our community" and "cast your vote"
I guess CP-Staff doesn't want anyeveryone with platinum status to be messing with the articles, so there might be other restrictions to avoid missusage.

No, it's on individual point groups: "Editor" or "Author" perhaps. I've not found a document which explains the numbers needed yet. (Mind you, I haven't looked that hard!)

No problem, As I said I go for the articles when I search for concrete info or when the title of the ones in home page look interesting for me.
I have found this in the info page of the reputation:
Quote: Please note that the "Points Needed" column is merely a placeholder for now. Some of the current requirements are:
•Vote to remove messages: Bronze Debator
•Edit entries in Quick Answers: Silver Author, Authority, Editor or Organiser
•Delete entries in Quick Answers: Platinum Author, Authority, Editor or Organiser
•Have live hyperlinks in your biography: 1000 points.
Other items are editable depending on what edit restriction the author specified.
Regards.
