Voting is gone - but so is the report button.
So no way to report spam?

I think reporting spam isn't possible now.
I hope there's no spam in the Lounge until the report button is gone.

There is still the Spam and Abuse Watch Forum[^] - I'm just guessing they will keep a closer eye than they normally do on it for the time being. And they kept a pretty sharp eye before...

Correct. For now. (though the Spam and Abuse forum [^]is Your Friend)

Hey guys, as per this[^] post and my response to it, there have been at least two -16/-160 abuse reports given on at least two separate answers to this question[^]?
Before seeing that more than one post had been flagged, I had simply deleted mine as it was a bit of a tongue-in-cheek response. But since another, completely innocuous answer in this thread was flagged, I'm wondering if one of the hamsters could just check and ensure that we don't have a troll running around flagging posts willy-nilly. I'm assuming it is the same person as they have a high enough rep to do this, but aren't quite platinum yet.
Cheers.
I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

The voter in question has a different idea of how to use the "1" voting option than I do. Yes, he's very high rep.

I realise that voting is currently off in the Lounge.
However, voting buttons are still available in the technical forums. There's a thread starter in C# which is pretty clearly a homework question, so I 1-voted it. It showed 'Rating: 1. Votes: 2' when I did it. However, the post still shows no rating when viewed, and is not greyed out as a low rated post.
I'm not sure whether the votes aren't being stored or the thread display isn't getting average ratings, but something is not right in there somewhere.

Thats what I thought.
The post I made a couple down was downvoted, and I only noticed because of the -16 appeared in my rep table, but nothing shows against the post. Maybe it shows to others, not just myself...

|
|
|
|
Ah, if you got the -16 then presumably voting is working, but the post display is incorrect.

Thanks for the report. Fixing.

Hey Chris,
One of the bugs in the rep system might relate to voting on your own articles.
Previously when I went platinum on Author, went went back through my own articles and re-voted on them, and gave myself a little rep boost
After you did the update yesterday, I had dropped (not sure of the exact number) but somewhere in the region of 1000.
Just out of curiosity, I went back through my articles and revoted to see what would happen. and out of the 20 published articles (I have 1 in draft), I managed to boost on 10 of them for 800, and I know that I had previously done them.
So it looks like there is something a miss in that area.
[Edit: I did the same for the tips, and also got a gain there]
Cheers,

A mere coincidence unfortunately. And yes, you can vote on your own stuff. It saves having to create a sock puppet
