Now its working. Thanks for the reply.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream. Discover.

Myself able to gain points after voting mine articles and tips number of times. Will anybody let me know is it a bug??

It should be only one time.
It might be that the reputation logger says you have got new votes, but your points should not increase repeating your own votes

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpfull answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

I am sure you wouldn't do this

We live in an enormous novel. For a writer it's less necessary to invent a novel's fictional content: fiction's already there. A writer's task is to invent a reality." J. G. Ballard, 1974

Hi All,
Is their any way ping / message some particular user in CodeProject.
I know admin will concern about spamming but the user will add others, and he/she can remove/block a particular user from list.
Thanks

Some users have the email option checked. Find a message and check to see if there's an email link at the bottom.

Ok, but if you have live chat it would more interactive.
|
|
|

It would be counter to the purposes of the forums and QA though. LiveChat really isn't a suitable format for sharing solutions to problems with multiple people.

Some time some members are trying express their problem by exploring the original code,
but they cant because the code is public to all, there is no privacy.
Or members also can share their thoughts to others I think it will help.

So, you're happy for people to stop having problems being solved for all then? This is totally counter to the whole ethos of the site, and I would oppose this feature.

Ok, I understand what you try to mean.

One of these days I'm going to think of a really clever signature.

At the end of an article in the Comments and Discussion section when I click on links, they seeem to loop around to the start of the article, instead of following the link. E.g.
http://www.codeproject.com/csharp/PrettyGoodSplashScreen.asp?df=100&forumid=26207&mpp=50&noise=1&fr=51&select=1016751#xx1016751xx
goes to
http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/5454/A-Pretty-Good-Splash-Screen-in-C
How do can I decipher links like this, so I won't need to bother anyone?
Thanks.

That is my problem. I don't want to go there, because I'm there already. I need help with the links that are embedded in the Discussion and Comments section. There are several links in the discussion that refer to one of the many other messages on Code Project. (This is an old article and popular, so the Discussion Section is very long.) When I click on a link, it takes me back to the beginning of the article and never to the actual message to which it refers. It is not clear from the link to which thread it refers. All I see is something like 'here [^]'. The only thing I can go on is some kind of message ID in the link, but since the link is old style, the message reference is dropped.
What I would like to know is how the message link part (df=100&forumid=26207&mpp=50&noise=1&fr=51&select=1016751#xx1016751xx) gets me to the right message.

It can't. It's not a permalink. At the bottom of each message is a permalink which is of the form "www.codeproject.com/messages/123456/Title" where "123456" is replaced by whatever the message ID is.
www.codeproject.com/[some URL]?df=100&forumid=26207&mpp=50&noise=1&fr=51&select=1016751#xx1016751xx is a link to a page that has a forum, with a querystring that says to the forum "start showing messages from row 51 onwards, and if message #1016751 is on that page, open it". Since messages are continually added, message 1016751 may no longer be on the page starting at row 51.
A cheat is to just form the correct permalink manually: www.codeproject.com/messages/1016751/Show-me-my-message-please[^]
