How can I check if a UDP port is connectable or not. I know there is no "connection" actually going on but is there a way to understan if a port is listened by a server process on winsock ? As far as I know it is possible on Unix. If you know how to do this can you post a code sample.

locally or on a remote host ?
if locally try a little trick !
try to create a udp server on that port ! if one exists it will certainly fail ! it only fails if you have a server started , or you have not initialized winsock !
//i write a nice winsock article ! in win2000 / xp section ! check it out !

The VC++ ClassView window and the VC++ Source Browser do a good job of letting us see the classes and class/data members.
However, I need to include a list of classes/data members in a doc., so if anyone knows of any utility/source which will read a C++ source program and output a list of classes/members that would be just Great...preferably something Free or ShareWare.

Dear all
How to remotely power on computer on the network?
for example, RequestDeviceWakeup() function ...
Magic Packet frame...
Thank you

If the computers have NIC's that support 'Wake on LAN' (or something to that nature) you should be able to just ping them... this will only work if each computer has a static IP assigned to it thought.

Sorry I didn't see this before I hope the answer is still relevent for you.
You can get the to the underlying DOM by going through the IWebBrowse interface. I use this technique in this Article

There is a wonderful and significantly complete desription of this topic by Dino Esposito in MIND journal and msdn site . you can find it in MSDN Library too with complete source and example . search for this in index

I would like to be able add a windows file dialog as one of the pages of a property sheet. If the windows file dialog were to be used directly, and for it to make sense, the open and cancel buttons would have to be removed. I thought about designing my own file dialog from scratch, but then I ran into the problem of 'how do you get the explorer file browser, and the current path dropdown to work in the way they do in the CFileDialog with the icons etc.?'
If anyone can help I woould be very greatful.

Has anyone ever found a way to get the MSWebbrowser control to navigate the users hard drive without poping up new windows when they DblClick on the Icons?

I am looking EVERYWHERE for a class or OCX that will write audio to CDs. I found one, but it doesn't work with the CD-R Drivers that I have. If someone could please point me in the right direction (i.e. A place that has FREE source code or OCX controls that posess the functionality to burn CD's) I would be most apriciative.
Thank you in advance.;P

Maybe this will help you understand:
CPerson Reid = "Teenager";
CPerson All_C_Programmers[9999999999];
int i;
int num_Programmers_That_Are_Teenagers = 0;
for (i=0;i<9999999999;i++)
{
if (All_C_Programmers[i]=="Teenager")
{
num_Programmers_That_Are_Teenagers++;
}
}
cout << num_Programmers_That_Are_Teenagers;

I don't understand, why my source code didn't work !!!

I am having trouble storing list of pre-allocated dibs. I want to do this rather than store pixel arrays, because less memory
copying takes place, and i need speed.
Can someone help plz...
Pseudo code follows ::
// create array or n bitmaps and n pixel arrays
for(n)
HBITMAP bmp[n] = CreateDibsection(..., &pixels[n])
// fill pixels with data
for(n)
ReadSomeDataIntoPixelArray(pixels[n])
// alot later on in code..........
HDC dc = ::CreateCompatibleDC(NULL);
for(n)
{
// draw each tile to the screen.. for example
SelectObject(dc, bmp[n]); /**** PROBLEM HERE ****/
// only 1 object can be selected into dc so i will ony ever see the first image
/** I need a function that removes the bitmap from the DC **/
BitBlt(GetDC(NULL), x, y, w, h, dc, 0, 0, SRCCOPY);
}
*****************************************************
Problem is that each bitmap object needs to be selected
into a dc before i can blit it. However only one bitmap
can be selected into a dc at one given time. Storing the
dc seems unacceptable because a DeleteDC effectively frees
all allocated memory, so my pixels get invalidated.
I think i just need a function that un-selects the object
from the DC. That way i can select a new object into it.
Do i have to create an array of dc[n], or is it best to just
malloc a block of memory for my pixels and create the dib's at render time (just before i blit).
ANY HELP WHATSOEVER IS MOST APPRECIATED

OOOPPS...
Its late and ive just wasted a lot of my time, and now yours.
My dibs where absolute rubbish... SelectObject does overwrite the dib in the dc.
Sorry, to be so stupid

Hi
You can link the "vfw32.lib" in you project.
In this library, some API, just as "DrawDibDraw", can do a sequential images.
Just a piece a advice.
Good luck!

I'm looking for free TFTP server code I could incorporate into an MFC application?
|
|
|
|
|
I have an "enhanced" file open dialog (it has an image previewer inside it).
I can call and use this dialog whenever i want like ::
CPreviewDialog p(TRUE);
p.DoModal() ... etc
However in my application when i select File/Open the default CFileDlg always gets called.
MFC calls CWinApp::OnFileOpen, which is the function i assume i need to override. Which in its lower levels
instantiates the CFileDlg.. The problem is this function
does a lot of other document opening etc...
Is there an easy solution??
Thanks for any help whatsoever

Replace the default implementation with your fileopen dialog, and call CWinApp::OpenDocumentFile with the document's file.
I hope this info helps to you.

Having problems with the TOC auto-synching with some of the Topic files (the auto-synch option is selected). Some of the files synch and some don't. I don't think it's seeing the files as "topic" files even thought they exist in the .hhc file.
I've tried deleting the files and adding them again as topic files -- no luck. Any suggestions?
Thanks --
