and, while not a programming language, Ruby on Rails, which has gotten me to finally foray deeply into the world of HTML, Javascript, and CSS.

You'll find out shortly. I'm about to publish a massive article here on CP on basic authentication in Rails (Ruby is not something I would use except for the existence of Rails). It's intended to be an very comprehensive look at how this is done, pulled together from dozens of sources out there that one would otherwise need to search out. Sneak peak:
In this article, we will be working with:
Ruby
Ruby on Rails
Git
RubyMine
PostgreSQL
The Rails Interactive Console
Emails
Recaptcha
and implement a full authentication system in one place rather than as separate blog or article entries, which will support:
Sign Out
Account Management
Password Reset
Basic User Administration
Exploring such features as:
Gems
Site Environment Variables
Database Migrations
HTML metadata
Controllers, Models, and Views
Application Layouts
CSS
Cookies
etc....
Should be posted by tomorrow, as it's 95% complete.

I worked a lot on MVC last few months, so was all together different from .net as hard to link events. But found interesting and happy that I am able to add some new technologies to my resume
Interested in leaning Android as well started even, but somehow can't see progress. Need to push myself for that.......

I had to learn it at school and it can be incredibly tedious but it's fun to see how it all works.

Any assembly is tedious that's why they created higher level languages. I really like the AVR assembler, it's very powerful!

I started to learn it a few months ago. I'm surprised it's taken me this long, I've been using Linux for a long time. (Python is very popular on Linux)

Same here. I had an opportunity to rewrite a C# utility in Python and used that as an excuse to learn the language. I really like the syntax and the fact that there is usually a single and obvious way of doing things. Still not a big fan of dynamic type system, though...

I gather Python works quite well with C++?

It has C extensions which make it pretty easy to wrap up C++ objects. However, I haven't used it for that purpose yet.

I'm not sure about C++ but it has a lot of stuff in place for C.

I was also busy with Python for few months and got some basics.
I wish, I could have written for my mind:
Mind.AsEnumerable().Where(m => m["EmptyCorner"] == "").ToList().ForEach(s => s.SetField("EmptyCorner", "C#, Asp.net, Linq, Java, .....Everyting"));

Learning Java for Android Development and quite liking it.

I've been doing the same; but my reactions have been the opposite of yours.
I've been reminded of why I dislike Java and why I utterly detest the utter PoS that is known as Eclipse.
On top of which I've learned that Google doesn't know how to make APIs that don't suck. A situation I'm defining as creating something with flaws such that 99% of the examples its search returns are catastrophically flawed (good luck finding an example of how to create a ui popup that can return a value and doesn't crash/fail to return on rotation, or how the lack of an ORM results in huge numbers of DB examples using string concatenation queries) and cases where doing it right becomes more of a PITA with newer versions (all the extra boilerplate needed to redo your UI in fragments).

Have looked at Xamarin Studio for Android development it uses .net, I've tried it for some small projects and works quite well albeit it has limitations.

I have. Using weird/nonstandard tools only works if you're solo or can be confident that everyone else on the team will buy in. Even if I had a $1k blank check from corporate IT (and for this project we'd need at least 2, maybe 5 licenses) I have higher priority items I'd want to spend it on (2x budget 2560x1440, or 1x and 1x 512GB SSD),

I learned to programm for a new plattform (SharePoint) and some new technologies (for me: e.g. AD)
So I am happy that there wasn't need for programming language.
This year I could learn Brainfuck - or let it be.
