I just came across a couple of articles that I am able to edit and delete. That should not be possible since I do not have those privileges.
I have not actually tried to do either, but the icons are available to me in the upper right corner.
I would prefer not to blindly post the links, so let me know how you want me to point you to the articles.
[EDIT]
The problem seems far greater than I initially thought. I have put some information together in an unpublished article, which is pretty easy for you to locate under my profile (since there are no other articles to muddy the waters ). I think it will be best if an Admin takes a look at it.

Some authors allow anyone to edit their articles.

|
|
|

Could you take a quick look at my note and check if that is the case?

I'd love to help, but as I'm an editor already, the features are pretty much always available to me.

No Pete, it's a bug.
I just checked on one of mine: it is marked as Edit "Admin only" and by borrowing my cat's login id (http://www.codeproject.com/Members/Dij-The-Cat[^] 500 points total) I can edit the Tip.

Thanks for checking OG.
I don't know if the CP guys have a good way of tracking all these down, but I do have a list almost as long as the one already in my note. I tracked them down Saturday, but did not want to spend the time formatting the note if it turned out to be a waste of time. If Chris can use the information, I will update the note with the additional links.
I noticed a couple authors have quite a few in the list - they may have opted for the "Allow anyone to edit" setting.

Email me the details and I'll post a reply as to what's going on.
Whatever it is I'll fix it quickly.

About 350K worth of long story.

If you are suggesting that my rep points have come from upvoting myself, I would have to feel a bit insulted. Personally, I would consider that cheating! And since you get points for upvoting others, and his rep total is 500, I think it is pretty clear that that hasn't happened.
Please, ask Chris to check my account - I have nothing to hide at all.

It was a joke mate, making a play on your recent announcment of 750K.

No problem - I've had a trying day or I would probably have ignored it.

This is what happens when you're uber-rep man. People make jokes about your rep. It used to be CG, but now it's you.

Looks like that took you less than 5 minutes to fix. Showoff.
After checking a reasonable subset of the 180 Tips I had found, I concur. All fixed.

The following post disappeared from my list of blog posts and has stopped getting pageviews:
http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/606610/LLLPG-2cplusLoycplustrees-2cplusandplusLES-2cpluso
This morning I clicked "update my article" and added a note requesting that the <style> element at the top of the article actually be used to format the article instead of appearing as plain text. Does this explain why the article disappeared? But I didn't mark it as a Work in Progress so I am confused.
(On an unrelated note, the buttons in the article editor don't work in Chrome for me. I have to use Firefox.)

It's been promoted to an Article.
We don't support the addition of STYLE blocks in articles. We specifically work to provide a consistent look and feel for all articles.
Buttons don't work in Chrome? Hmm. They were working for me the other day but I'll take a look.

Oh, does that happen automatically when I use "Update your article"?
The style was added to my other blog post so I know it's possible (although unfortunately, in the CodeProject version, the two sidebars were just slightly too close together, producing a glitch... I wonder if that glitch has a name.)
This time I had to use Firefox just to post this message (now I'm on a different computer; on the other computer I was able to post a message, but the buttons in the Article Editor didn't work.)

Earlier, when I visited the "My Settings" page, the connection was totally encrypted. But now, Firefox says "Connection Partially Encrypted". I wouldn't like to enter a new password if the page is just partially encrypted instead of totally.
By design or bug?

Before logging out I had all e-mail notifications disabled for both Discussion forums, and Newletters & Emails.
After logging back in, they are all enabled, surprise.
Other settings, signature, e-mail subs, etc., seem to be unchanged.
Of course it was a thrill to get an e-mail forwarded from Pete O'Hanlon
thanks, Bill

It is quite an illusion to imagine that one adjusts to reality essentially without the use of language and that language is merely an incidental means of solving specific problems of communication or reflection."
