You could be right. I once heard a shoe salesman refer to himself as a "Shoe Engineer". I almost spit up all over myself.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?

So in the beginning, there was this[^] Lounge post - Nice, a typical Lounge post like it gets posted every day.
But now the game begins. Apparently, the member has tried to get the Lounge post approved as article. which was smashed by the community:
http://www.codeproject.com/script/Articles/ArticleVersion.aspx?aid=609272&av=890409&msg=4593033#xx4593033xx[^]
Afterwards, he got that same thing approved as Tip/trick:
An example of a GUI technique known as “Recent Places list”[^]
I ain't got a problem with tips/tricks containing no source code; sometimes no source code is needed to present an idea.
What really disturbs me on this one is that the Tip/trick is just copy-pasted from his Lounge post and does not present any idea, neither source code nor anything else interesting.
It basically just says "Oh, have you heard ffrom those recent places thing?" - Freshed up with some poor screenshots edited in Paint.
Don't feel like the account needs to get nuked, but delete the Tip, at least. It is from really poor quality and has no value at all - At least in my opinion.
cheers,
Marco
Edit: Fixed the link to the Lounge post.

The link to the lounge post needs to be fixed...
I'm also not sure about this... Poor Quality, or Plagiarized ?

I'd go for 'Poor quality' - IMO Plagiarism is only applicable when someone else's work is copied.

Thanks Chris
Can you have a Look at his other tips and tricks?
I just had a quick glance at them but they look like the same to me: He describes something existing but doesn't provide a concept nor any source code. All together The value of The tips and Tricks of The Said author seems to be very poor.
Cheers

Marked as Not a question but... not sure. From the name, it seemed like it is spam,
Question[^]
User[^]
Since the account is 8 years old, but I didn't find any activity... Hacked??
|

I didn't see that as a hacked account. There are a lot of people who wait for a long time to ask a question.
|
|
|
|
|
But the question is not definitely fit to be in Q/A
|

Playing devil's advocate, why is it definitely not fit to be in Q/A? This isn't StackOverflow - we don't have to be anywhere near as uptight as they do over there. I'd like to think we were a lot more inviting to people. I certainly don't see anything inherently wrong with the question.

K, Got it... So you say such questions are allowed in Q/A?
|
|

I leave it to the community - I'm not pretending to be the only person who has an opinion. I just thought I'd throw an alternative point of view in there. You were right to raise the question, and hopefully people will display wisdom and maturity in pondering whether or not we should be allowing such questions.

That's right.

The account is 4 and a bit years old, he provided what looks like an actual answer here[^], but that was two years ago.
You choose. You decide.

If it's a hijack, the original owner can ask for a reinstatement on that basis and will know that there is a problem or that is password is compromised.
Either way, the account needs to be closed at least temporarily, so I hit the "spammer" button.
