Does this help? (It mentions that the orgName for the domain is 'Peer 1 Dedicated Hosting', Atlanta Georga)

what does this mean? no hosting company? you mean they are hosting their website at their own company?

I suspect it just means they've paid the listed company - Peer 1 Dedicated Hosting for webspace.
They could very well still be in another country, even if the domain is registered in the US.
Notice that there is quite a range of addresses - 216.157.0.0 - 216.157.111.255, this tells me that the company listed here is the name of a hosting company. Much like if you ran my IP through the same web-page, the address would come up as being owned/registered by Woolworths or Optus.
You can always try what I tried - and run tracert to see if the traffic goes anywhere interesting between you and the end-point.
I.e, from the command line: "tracert comm100.com" or "tracert 216.157.88.104"

If I make an article on how to make a chrome app then an article on how to make a chrome extension would anyone read it? dose anyone even want to know about chrome development?
|
|

Yep. Writing another one at the moment. I'd read it.
Out of curiosity, would it be Google Chrome specific, or do you plan to use Chromium (extension) extensions only?

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in an asp classic class that would allow a coder to place on a page a drop down that would show the images in a specified folder on the server in a combobox type drop down as images. Once the user selected one of the images it places the correct reference to that image in the text box in the control for submitting to the server. This will allow you to dynamically assign an image to an in your page.

I'm not looking for a definitive answer here, or an argument, but just some clues and some debate.
We may be undertaking project soon to develop a reasonably large application for use in-house by several hundred users. It'll have an MSSQL backend and development would likely be on-going to enhance the product after the initial launch.
Although I haven't come to a firm conclusion in my mind, I'm very much leaning towards the belief that a browser-based application is the way to go, as opposed to client software installed on users' machines.
My question is: What is/are the important languages to consider writing such a web-based application in? I won't be developing this myself, we'll be hiring developer(s), so I need to know which developers to target. I need to know which languages are most ubiquitous, making recruitment of additional/replacement developers easier in future. Are there considerations over speed of development? Which are and are not proprietary, leading to us being vulnerable or otherwise to their owners moving the goalposts or going out of business? Which provide for the fastest, most responsive pages? Which lend themselves to good UX design?
I'm quite experienced coding with ASP.NET and VB.NET, and if the applications was written with those I'd be very comfortable as I'd understand it and could potentially even do some of the development myself. I suspect, though, that most of you will suggest ASP.NET doesn't meet my criteria - if so, why not? I don't accept "It's by Microsoft" as an argument (though I do understand why you might make it).
If ASP.NET really isn't a viable way to go, I'd like to start learning the basics of whatever language we do decided to go with so that I can at least understand the principles of what's going on.
All constructive debate/advice very welcome!

If you're comfortable with ASP.NET, then stick with ASP.NET - there are plenty of large[^] sites[^] built[^] with ASP.NET[^] which easily handle much more traffic that you're anticipating.

print_r($mysql_query->errorInfo());

Hi,
I am using the following code in PDO to insert member details in my database.
$mysql_query = $mysql_connection->prepare($mysql_command);
$mysql_query->bindParam(':param_member_email', $member_email, PDO::PARAM_STR);
$mysql_query->bindParam(':param_member_first_name', $member_first_name, PDO::PARAM_STR);
$mysql_query->bindParam(':param_member_last_name', $member_last_name, PDO::PARAM_STR);
$mysql_query->bindParam(':param_member_password', $member_password, PDO::PARAM_STR);
$mysql_query->execute();
I would like to know how can I can using the above code return multiple OUT parameters from the database such as:
-- member_guid
-- member_activation_code
