Thanks a lot for your interest, but this has not worked...
I'm trying to dynamically modify the phrase that must be spoken in the speech sdk 5.1 in order to be able to make my programs talk to the user...
it seems to need a IStream as a parameter... and I'd like to do it using the strings generated by my app...
IStream *pStrmI;
HRESULT hr = CreateStreamOnHGlobal(NULL, TRUE, &pStrmI);
ASSERT(SUCCEEDED(hr));
CComBSTR sText(L"HELLO WORLD") ;
pStrmI->Write(sText, sTextLenght, &dwWritten);
Depending on what you are doing sometimes you need to
pStrmI->Commit(..);
This code wasn't spellchecked

OK thanks, I'll try it...

Hi,
Please can anyone help me in setting up page setup (Margins) on Printer before printing a page using WIN32 coding.
I have displayed page setup common dialog box and got the New settings (marigns and pager size...etc) on "PAGESETUPDLG pagedlg;" structure. Now before calling printing routine I want to apply this settings on to printer so that printer takes selected margins to print.
Pls help with required API's and if any code available. (WIN32 coding)

You do not give up easily!
No one could give you an answer on the last five times you posted exactly the same text. so there must be someone there to give it at the sixth, seventh or eighth repost.
Have you ever taken into consideration that maybe your problem is not adequately described, so that others have no chance to help you?
But by now, I think you have annoyed even those who could have helped you so much that they will ignore you.
So will I.
My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

I am looking for a Calendar Dialog Box or Control which manages a date choosing.
Please help
There is an ActiveX control doing this.
~RaGE();
Where can I find such control???
Project -> Add to project -> components and controls -> Registred ActiveX Controls -> Control Calendar...
If you don't like this one you can find a lot of them here in CP.
Hope it helps...

Hi friends,
I am doing a project in VC 6. I am having a thread for processing some data which I wanted to plot on a bitmap. There is difference between the maps, when I plot the data straight on the screen and plot on a memdc and bring it to the screen, What could be the reason?? Can anybody give some solution??
Regards,
Satya

Can i use a regular DLL (non-COM) developed using VB 6.0 in my VC++ 6.0/.NET application ????
Out of the box VB5 and 6 only make ActiveX (i.e. COM) dlls. If you are using BitArts Fusion or that thing from Desaware then you can use them from .NET with the same syntax as a windows API call.

hy, does anybody has an idea (or source) how to make an office 11-style toolbar in my mfc app?
thanx for any input!
Office doesn't use normal toolbars;
you can get the same feel by creating an a tear off rebar (w/custom draw) you can find on this site.
Hy, but how can i make, that it LOOKS like office 2003 ?

Well,
handling custom draw in your rebar lets you draw your custom vertical gripper, while doing it in your toolbars enables you create the gradient effect and custom check boxes...
Try searching articles on custom draw on this site.

hy, thanx for the tip. now i found a program called menubarxp. there ist a function which draws the gripper:
void CXPToolBar::CreateGripperBrush ()
{
ASSERT (m_brGripperHorz.GetSafeHandle () == NULL);
ASSERT (m_brGripperVert.GetSafeHandle () == NULL);
WORD horzHatchBits [8] = { 0xFF, 0x00, 0xFF, 0x00, 0xFF, 0x00, 0xFF, 0x00 };
CBitmap bmpGripperHorz;
bmpGripperHorz.CreateBitmap (8, 8, 1, 1, horzHatchBits);
m_brGripperHorz.CreatePatternBrush (&bmpGripperHorz);
WORD vertHatchBits[8] = { 0xAA, 0xAA, 0xAA, 0xAA, 0xAA, 0xAA, 0xAA, 0xAA };
CBitmap bmpGripperVert;
bmpGripperVert.CreateBitmap (8, 8, 1, 1, vertHatchBits);
m_brGripperVert.CreatePatternBrush (&bmpGripperVert);
}
now, when i change the horzHatchBits , i get a different looking gripper. but i dont see the point! how can i make now a gripper with 4 small rectangles like in office 2003 ?
thanx 4 your help!
Well,
I think you'll have to draw it as you like... zoom in Office's gripper and try to draw something similar, you should have a device context to draw to;
note that you can increase the width of the gripper by sending a message to the rebar or toolbar, if you want.
ok, and how can i make the smooth color-fade?

Hello @all,
does anyone know, wether or not Unicode can be used with Win98 or wether it is possible to add this feature to this Win98.
I' ve tried to copy the Win2k unicody libs to win98, but this failed.
Thanks for good answers...
