This[^] account has made 19 posts; all linking to articles hosted by Software Development Times; if you check its message history early ones were posted as "SDTimes" before changing to "CMulligan1013" in an apparent attempt to masquerade as a normal user.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

The account itself is toast; but he's still got 5 posts at the top of the insider news forum; and at least one more farther down the page.

Assuming the new name of the spammer, CPMulligan and so one, is not freely created I think we found the real name of our spammer[^].

Or the one the spammer wants you to think about.

I'm sorry if you thought I was spamming, maybe I was just putting stories out too much. But I was posting actual news stories.

The issue is that it's your site's stories you were posting links to. If you want to advertise your site here, that's what the banner slots are for. If you look under the help menu there's a link for "advertise with us"; from there you can make contact with CPs sales team.
What you were doing was trying to masquerade promotions to your site as news stories shared by either active members of the site or as part of the CP's daily news email (articles posted by Kent). Even if your intent was pure, that's spam; and changing the name of your original account away from "SDTimes" makes it look like you knew you were in the wrong and were trying to cover up for it.
Bottom line, you screwed up; and I'm almost certain that for the next few months I won't be the only person looking suspiciously at any links to your site to make sure they're not from a new, suspected spam, account.

Christina,
Your reply here (under your real name) makes the situation a lot easier to resolve.
Whatsoever: Many members took offense in the way you have daily posted links to your site - Maybe you did it by not knowing better, however now you do. Another point which lead some members to the conclusion that you are spamming was probably the fact that all of the links pointed to articles which were written by you.
Both are absolute no-nos: Feel free to contribute to the Insider news, or the Lounge, and supply valuable content. However, the unwritten Nettiquette here is that linking to your own content is seen as a big no-go, which can lead to the deletion of your account (as it has happened already to your old account).
Please feel free to ask Sean Ewington, our main content admin, to ask him about any further information regarding what is commonly seen as spam/abuse of the site and what is generally allowed. Just drop him an email at <sean@codeproject.com> (He is a really kind guy and happy to help you, especially since we don't experience a lot of members who got their account banned and return in the kind way you did).
In the End I am glad to welcome you back to CodeProject - Please be careful what links you post, many members have a loose finger on the trigger when it comes to members who were previously banned for spamming.
Let's make this a fresh start. Welcome!

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but this account[^] seems suspicious (same initials, joined today, only message is in Insider News), even though the only message so far[^] points to ZDNet.

I think you probably are. Different site; and neither ZDNet nor Mary Jo Foley need to spamvertize.

Before I reported this, I checked the post you are linking to in order to be sure these two were not already listed there.
I don't know how they do it, but there must be a bug somewhere and they are taking advantage of that.
