You might be able to create one by developing a behavior. Unfortunately the page would be Internet explorer only. There is always an applet but if you're trying for an full client-side version you might have to settle for box tabs and develop them using style sheets and some DHTML. (play around with the border and span/div stuff.
For more information on behaviors check out the microsoft MSDN site
Behaviors
For style sheets, try searching for Cascading Style Sheets.

Hi,
I have a question regarding DTD. I hope that you will be able to help me out. Let's say I want to link a dtd file to my xml file, and the dtd is supposed to be at "http://blabla/test.dtd" .. the thing is, how do I upload the dtd file? Am I even supposed to do that? Because I tried at geocities and some other sites, I couldn't even download a ".dtd" file. Please help!!
Thanks!

Try this function and modify as desired.
function displaypage(page)
{
mywindow = window.open(page,"outsidepage","toolbar=yes,location=yes,directories=yes,status=yes,menubar=yes,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=800,height=600,left=0,top=0");
mywindow.focus();
return false;
}

Ok, I'll try reposting this since the forum code doesn't allow you to scroll to the right.
Here is the function again:
function displaypage(page)
{
mywindow = window.open(page,"outsidepage",
"toolbar=yes,location=yes,
directories=yes,status=yes,menubar=yes,
scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=800,
height=600,left=0,top=0");
mywindow.focus();
return false;
}

I’m just curious to know why so many people use VBScript for server side ASP programming. Why use it when it seems to be so much slower than JScript?
I’ve been running a series of test scripts that accomplish the same task. They are in pairs, one in JScript and the other in VBScript. I run the scripts multiple times in succession and then use the overall time to work out the average time taken for one execution. JScript outperforms VBScript in terms of speed by as much as 20 times in some cases (What took 0.04 seconds with JScript, took 0.76 seconds in VBScript). Ok, that’s still quick you might be saying, but when you have thousands of the things executing at the same time, speed is an issue.
A quick search on the net will reveal that this has been known for some time...
So, why use VBScript?
P.S. After I wrote this and went to try to post it in the forums, I noticed that they suddenly slowed down for about ten minutes. Seeing as this site uses VBScript, I wonder if that was anything to do with it...

Does anyone know of a free ActiveX tree control (with available source) that could be used to create a dynamic navigation tree on a website? I'm aiming to create something similar to MSDN's left-side navigation menu, except I can't use the ASP.NET objects that are used on that site, since I'm doing the programming in PHP.
Anyone have any links? I'd appreciate it.

Not sure that there is anything free left in this world, but http://www.visualasp.com/ tree control is pretty good and not too expencive.

The controls there look good, thanks, but since I'm running the website on a Linux box, I can't use them Guess I'll have to go through the fun of writing my own ActiveX control to run on the client-side.

Hi,
Now I have a trouble on how to detect a script
variable changed.
In my page, I use activeX control to do something
,and it will return a value. But, I don't know when
it will ? Because my control will return it asynchronously.
So, I decide to try to get the value by using
an event; but, how to do this ? And, I must do it
in ActiveX and send notification to IE or I must
do it in custom event in HTML ?
Thanks for your help

I wrote this script so this img:
would be different if I was looking at the page in Netscape. I put this script in the section
to try to change the source of the image later in my page if it was Netscape.
<script="javascript">
Could someone please tell me what is wrong or if there is a different
way to do what I am trying to do.

I dont have Netscape, but I think the script line should be
window.document.images.menu3.src = "images/menu2.gif";
Or maybe
document.menu3.src = "images/menu2.gif";
Hope this helps.

your code is fine...except that you didnt setup javascript right
is what it should be
otherwise it will just skip over the code
not even reading it as javascript
hope that works...

Hello!.
i'm having trouble w/Array references, observ the following-->
if i creat an Array1 and then do the follwing {Array2 =Array1) Array2 becomes a reference to Array1 but then if i change the value of Array1 directly something like array1 = array1.concat(arrayX) i end up having array2 staying with its old value and leaving it reference to array1. i understand why this happens, What i do wnt to know is how i can make TRUE references in Javascript where Array2 will alwayse point to Array1.
thanks

I have a web page that I developed using microsoft
frontpage 98. When I view the page it looks nice. If I make changes to the page and then view it in my browser, the old page appears. If I click refresh, the old page still appears. If I delete all the cookies, temporary internet files and some other directories under c:\windows and then click refresh, I get the new page with changes.
If I make changes, how can I make the web page reflect those new changes for other users? If I keep viewing the old page, then other people on different computers must be viewing the old page as well, and that sucks!
Please, any response any one can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Danielle

That's a bit drastic, doncha think? Hit Ctrl+F5 to bypass the cache and reread the page.
