I have two classes in OS.tlb , i am able to import one of classes without any error but other one is not imported. in VB.net
sample code is like
Dim var1 = New OS.Openstaad.Staad
Dim var2 = New OS.Openstaad.StaadUI; // this is what throws error saying "COMException" 0x80040154
I have tried to make dll which show entry point not found.
This code works just fine through reflection.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Just noting that googling that error suggests that it occurs when the COM Object is not registered.

Hi...
I have created a Winforms application (UI) in Visual c++ VS 2008.
Now i need to port the same thing in WinCE7. How can i open the same UI in WinCE7. For that what should i need to do?
Else how can i create a User Interface in VS 2008 upgraded with VS 2008 sp1 and WinCE7 platform builder. The UI need to be developed in Visual c++.
Main problem is the .Net framework difference. Windows 7 uses .Net framework and WinCE7 require .Net Compact framework.
Thanks in advance

Typically, one would write two UI's.
Member 10538515 wrote: How can i open the same UI in WinCE7 WinCE does not support all the controls that .NET does; you might be able to open them in the designer after changing the framework, but I doubt that it'd be possible to write a unified UI.

Hello
I am using HttpWebRequest to let my website users download big files from a remote server.
my website bandwidth is 1 GB (download speed)and the remote server is 1GB download too.
I want to download the files to the clients with speed of 1MB only so my bandwidth will not throttled for each request.
can I control the the download speed from the remote server for each request?
does request.GetResponse() is download the file in full bandwith?
can I throttled it?
would it be okay to try and throttle it with Thread.Sleep?
like this code:
Stream rs = req.GetResponse().GetResponseStream();
while (fileLength > 0)
{
if (Response.IsClientConnected)
{
int length = rs.Read(buffer, 0, 10240);
Response.OutputStream.Write(buffer, 0, length);
Thread.Sleep(20);
Response.Flush();
fileLength = fileLength - length;
}
else
{
fileLength = -1;
}
}
thanks for any help

The components will try to use as much bandwidth as possible.
Never did I have the problem to limit the speed. Thread. Sleep could work and its time adjusted, you can measure the current speed by determining the time taken per package sent.
|
|
|
|
|
These components run on the application stack and have no way to effect on the bandwidth which is controlled by the network stack. I'm not sure why you need to throttle the download speed.
Using Thread.Sleep might mimic throttling but can also lead to a connection disruption based on the timeouts set on the client and the server.

Friends,I am new to vb.net and i have started designing a editor the problem is that my application is not running without visual studio.If i install visual studio the application is running.
How to run on machines without visual studio?
Help me friends...

Without seeing the error message, everyone is just guessing.
No, you don't have to install Visual Studio. That's kind of like shipping the auto plant that built the car with the car!
You DO have to have the appropriate .NET Framework version installed on the machine though. Open up "My Project" in the Solution Explorer window and look at the "Target Framework" dropdown on the "Application" tab. That's the version of the .NET Framework that you wrote your code against and the version that must be installed on any machine that you want to run your app on.

Well, since we know nothing about your application or its code, what controls you're using on the startup form, ... NOTHING AT ALL, it's impossible to tell you anything useful.

Try looking in the Event Viewer - Application log, it should give you some information about why your application is failing.

What are the differences in your computer and the other one?
Operating Systems?
Installed .NET Frameworks?
What .NET framework did you use to write the program?
Is your computer 64-bit, how about the other computer?
Is the other computer running in a restricted account?
Does the other computers anti-virus pick up your program?

I compiled with windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and i checked on a machine with same os but without visualstudio.The user is a administrator account and i have no anti-virus installed in my computer.
Still my exe is not running.I took the exe from debug folder of my project.
The .Net framework is 4.5,visual studio-2012 ultimate.The code is written in vb.net
