It takes programming to achieve, and we're achieving programmers.
So, yeah, it's related!

Four French trade unions and employers' federations have reached a truce over a much-discussed issue in the modern workplace: the slow creep of email and other online distractions outside traditional work hours. "Tout vient à point à qui sait attendre."
|
|
|
|
|
"Well, the building caught fire at midnight. I guess the morning crew will get it when they come in."
*smh*

|
|
|
|
...only if they get the email! Ooops!
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

The French are doing it right. Give it another decade and they'll all be making double the money to work 4 hour days.

BlackBerry won't continue making smartphones if it can't make any profit on them, CEO John S. Chen said in an interview with Reuters. Secure mobile fans, Canadians, and Chris should not read this one.

So...what else would they even DO? They don't have another business line.
BBM? No way. A business around an IM service hasn't been viable for 15 years.

They started selling stickers a while back...

"What are you laughing at over there?"

Quote: BBM? No way. A business around an IM service hasn't been viable for 15 years.
Try telling that to Facebook and the $19-billion-dollar-WhatsApp... (although I agree BBM won't generate big bucks for BlackBerry and they shouldn't centre their strategy around it).

Eh, that's an integration play (an astoundingly overpriced one at that.)
Does RIM have a single other thing besides handsets and BBM? Surely their OS isn't sufficiently interesting (or do I recall somewhere in the cobwebs of my mind the BB 10 is Android derivative?)

Actually now that you mention it, I think they do currently own QNX, which is definitely popular in some circles (automotive in particular). That might be worth a bit, but certainly their devices are the main draw.

Smart employers know the score: Take-home pay still matters, but so do company culture, praise and challenging work. 'Coffee'. 'When do we want it?' 'I will cut you!'

Received an e-card picture from a co-worker last night. The text is:
There is no life without water. Because without water, there is no coffee.
And without coffee, I'll kill you.
I understand the sentiment... and so does my work place. 8)

The head of Microsoft's unified operating system group, Terry Myerson, shares more details on Microsoft's one Windows vision in a Q&A with ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley. No more cascading or tiling for you

Oh no, not Mary Jo Foley again.

Come on, she's not that bad is she?
Here, read this interview[^] instead.

She's not that bad but the interview is lame; Myerson doesn't really answer a question or tell us anything relevant that isn't already known or being rumored.
"Microsoft OS chief sees a 'One Windows' future (Q&A)"... I hope he doesn't do that with just one eye and is blind on the other one.

Eight months ago we asked you to provide feedback on the features you want us to ship. And you didn’t disappoint! Since then, we’ve seen hundreds of Tweets, blog posts and user voice votes. It’s great to be part of such a thriving community. That feedback does work

The short answer to this tremendously popular question is, no, ReSharper will not use Roslyn...We’ll be sure to peek into Roslyn code and tests from time to time, to see how C# and VB.NET language features are implemented. We don’t rule out that actual code supporting them is going to emerge before formal specifications are finalized.
"You cannot wield it. None of us can. The One Compiler answers to Nadella alone. It has no other master."
