I used the following code (got from somebody) to save a WORD file from the ASP on the server.
<br />
<%<br />
' On Error Resume Next<br />
<br />
Set wrd = CreateObject("Word.Application")<br />
<br />
wrd.Application.Visible = False<br />
wrd.Documents.Add ()<br />
wrd.SaveAs Server.MapPath ("..\extracode") & "\myname.doc", 0<br />
<br />
doc = "This is a document"<br />
<br />
wrd.ActiveDocument.Close -1<br />
wrd.Application.Quit<br />
set wrd = Nothing<br />
%><br />
<br />
It gives the following error....
<br />
Microsoft Word error '800a175d' <br />
<br />
Could not open macro storage. <br />
<br />
/tstsite/extracode/word3.asp, line 7 <br />
Cany Anyone help me to get out of this....

hi!
try setting Word to run under Interactive user acc. You can do it using dcomcnfg.exe
Here change Identitiy to interactive user. Also, using the same program under Security tab, give the interacitve user access and lounch permissions.
Hope it helps...

Hello,
After an automatic postback, how do I return
the page to the same vertical position in the browser
window as it was before the postback event?
Thank you

Consider this approach: posting with a target of a hidden iframe on your page... no flicker, no regeneration, no scrolling.

You could use an anchor tag:
<a name="returnHere">This is where you should come back to ...</a>
If this is where they should always come back to just have the user redirected/transferred to the same URL but with the anchor reference on the end:
http://mysite.com/MyForm.aspx#returnHere
If you have multiple points that could be where you want to return them then you could pass a variable in the post and dynamically change the anchor in the postback ...

Hi there,
You can dynamically write office documents (word and excel) using ASP.
You might find this link useful:
http://www.infinetsoftware.com/content/officedocuments.asp
With regards to your font styles you can set this up in the document.
Hope this helps.

Quick question:
Are you using client-side VBScript or JavaScript?
It looks to me like VBScript cuz there is not an ending ";", even though it is not required, and VBScript is not case sensitive. Netscape will only handle JavaScript and the "submit" call should be lowercase. Also, ensure that you do not have any form elements named "Submit".
Let me know if that helps ...

Hi,
I just want to know if this is possible to put down the geographical map on the site and make it locate like... distance from the point x, area covered by Y miles from point z etc....
I have seen a few sites showing the maps - that has zoom facilities etc, but I really wonder if they are just images or the real information as captured from the sattilite
Please help

I am considering purchasing Visual Studio.net 2003. However my main form of database connectivity is an ODBC connection to a mySql server. I know that the next version supports ODBC out of the box rather than having to download the ODBC.net driver from Microsoft. Here is my question? Does anyone know if in the new version Microsoft has updated the wizards for Database conectivity to use ODBC commands as well as the standard Microsoft Sql Server SQL commands?

Hi!
Does anybody know how to find if the current page is included in the "Trusted Sites" (for Internet Explorer 6.0) ?
I have a script embeded in a page (let's say the page is www.mydomain.com/test.htm ) and I want to know if the client has set the domain www.mydomain.com as being a trusted site for Internet Explorer.
Well, any sugestion is welcomed, even it is "it's not possible to find it !".
Thank you very much!

I have an asp:listbox control. I would like to be able to delete an item from that list box by pressing the delete key. I understand that this is not built in because the asp:listbox is a server side control and the server is unaware that the delete key has been pressed while the listbox had focus. I have been told that javascript is the way to go to build this functionality myself. My question is, has anyone done something like this before. I have never used javascript and I don't want to reinvent the wheel if I dont have to. Otherwise does anyone have some code samples about writing events for controls using javascript?
Let me know. Thanks!

Changing the file extention will not change load speed (for images alone), it also won't show the image because the HTTP header would return text/html instead of image/gif or image/jpg . Lose some of the images if you want to get a faster load time.

Do you mean that you have a lot of graphics of text that could be changed to simple text?
If so, you could definitely speed up the page load by reducing the file size with the use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to format the text however you want it to look.
This is just a stab at interpreting your request though ... because I am not really sure what would be accomplished by converting a JPEG or GIF into a text file.

Thanks for your reply. This method of converting graphics into .txt and push the page load faster speed I've seen some sites on Net by chance. I saw the picture following the format .txt and it is good for the speed. I've asked several forums for help but no results.
I'll try to remember what the site is ...

My boss is cheap! So we're sticking with the *NIX based host and I've got to code the PHP to access our db tables. Please mind my ignorance since I've never coded with PHP and my C,C++ is kinda shabby since I've been out of the programming game for a while.
My problem is I've got the script to open up my tables for the search engine and I can display the results but only if the user types in the product number or name EXACTLY how it is on the tables. (E.G. 410160) This would be fine except that 60 is a metal finish code such is 48, 55, 59, 60, 70 and many more. So if the user simply wishes to search for 4101 and display all finishes or De Dion without a specific finish, hole pattern, or arc then I need to have the script only search the entire line for something containing (4101) or (De Dion). With ASP I simply used a .filter function but I do not know nor can I find what I'm looking for (Perhaps I just didn't know how to word it right) to do a similar search with PHP. BTW we are NOT using mySQL (The IS captain doesn't want the security risks until we reach ISA server level.) if that makes any difference.

Hi,
I have a problem trying to develop this new function in my website. I am trying to do a 'shortlist' function which allows users to have a shortlist of the bulletin board posting which may be relevant to them only. SOmething similar to the 'shortlist' function offered on this site. Is this done through a SQL statement in ASP? If so how do I make it a general statement so that it can be used dynamically?
Also, I am also hoping to develop a notification system where emails will be sent to relevant users informing them of a new posting that they would be interested in has been posted. Is this function done using the COM object?
Please help. I am a beginner ASP programmer and having alot of trouble with this.
