Right click on the toolbox and go to Customize Toolbox. Add the reference to the DLL from there and you'll see the control in your toolbox.

Duah...It worked.
Earlier I thought the list in the "Customize Toolbox" dialog is generated when you add the reference to the project. I didn't saw "browse" button. Agh!!!

Hello!
I've a big problem with the Panel's Autoscroll function...
I want to draw on-the-fly on a picturebox located in the panel.
F.e. the pBox's Size is 500*500 and the panel's Size is 100*100 and the panel's autoscroll function is set true.
If i click on the scrollbar's button for a single scrollstep, everything's fine.
But f.e. I click in the Hscrollbar and track it to make a step of 50 pixels, the new Area shows me 50 pixels of the "old" picture and the rest is empty.
So I guess, I've to tell the panel that it has to perform the same action as it performs, if only a one-step scroll is performing.
But how? And Where?
I've failed by tracking the Event, which is activated by scrolling...
Or is there another way to scroll a on-the-fly drawn picture?
Thank you for helping!

Welcome to the stupid world of the .NET scrolling support. If you are planning on doing more than just a little bit with that scrollable panel, you might be better off just writing your own. That's what I'm doing. When I'm done, I'll probably write an article about it and put it on CodeProject, 'cause so many people have asked for it.

Hi,
maybe we could do it together...
mail me please...
Cause I'm on a project in my studies and I've to make this fool become god-created wellfish
So if you like we better work together...
I've the opportunity to ask one of my Profs, who works over twenty years in the software engeneering buisness, a c++ overgod and a mentor of mine, so we hopefully could work with his force...

The only thing about doing it together is that I've worked for many moons on designing it and the design phase is mostly finished. That doesn't at all mean I won't be accepting any input. It just means that first I'll have to write up a paper on its design first so you can see where it's at now - but I really should do that anyway.
I have it 3/4 finished in VB Classic, but I think I'll port it to C# .NET. It does panning, zoom, auto drag-detection, etc. The things that aren't already done in it are the panning and scaling, plus the document object that goes along with it.
By the way, what is the project in your studies, if I may ask?
And what do you mean by "hopefully we can work with his force"?

J Dunlap

Hi,
with "working with his force" I want to say, that by any problem, we could ask him, so the phase of solving problems would be shorter, I think.
The project is about tour-and routeplanning like map&guide, but a little bit more complex, so there will be some aditional features...if we handle that project in time

I'm looking for a pre-written ListView-derived C# class that behaves as closely as possible to DataGrid in terms of its Data Binding functionality. Can anyone point me in the right direction??

Hi,
I have written code that executes within a Windows.Forms application but fails when the code is run within a WebService.
I add a reference to the SHDocVw.dll windows library.
The common code is as follows:
System.Object nullObject = 0;<br />
System.Object nullObjStr = "";<br />
string url = @"https://www.123456789.com";<br />
<br />
InternetExplorer ie = new InternetExplorerClass();<br />
<br />
ie.Navigate(url, ref nullObject, ref nullObjStr, ref nullObjStr, ref nullObjStr);<br />
<br />
<br />
while( ie.ReadyState != tagREADYSTATE.READYSTATE_COMPLETE )<br />
{<br />
System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(1000);<br />
count++;<br />
if (count > 30)<br />
{<br />
return null;<br />
}<br />
}<br />
<br />
return (ie.Document as IHTMLDocument2).body.outerText;
The code runs fine in the windows application but raises this exception in a WebService
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800706BF): The remote procedure call failed and did not execute.<br />
at SHDocVw.InternetExplorerClass.get_ReadyState()
Does anyone have any ideas about this problem?

Do you have to use the IE webcontrol? I think a better way to do it would be this:
using System.Text;
using System.Net;
class Demo
{
public static string GetPage()
{
System.Net.WebClient client = new System.Web.WebClient();
byte[] resultSet = client.DownloadData("https://www.123456789.com");
Encoding myEncoding = Encoding.Default;
return myEncoding.GetString(resultSet);
}
} That'll get you the HTML for the page...and it's all managed, no COM Interop needed.

I have tried to use the WebClient, WebRebRequest and WebResponse classes with the URI that I am trying to retrieve. All of these classes return an invalid request response from the server. The method I have shown works with the URI.

Are you sure you have the Network credentials right? The https protocol uses a username and password that you may have to pass through in the Credentials property.

Yes ... Done all that stuff b4 .. The URI contains the credentials in this case. As I stated before the URI works in Internet Explorer and with the code shown in my first post, but not within a WebService. My guess is that the problem is the security context in which the WebService runs.

I am looking for "Class hierarchy visualization tool" for C#. Earlier I used a product called CodeVizor[^] for VC++ (also supports Java), but now it looks like that company[^] gave up on that product.
Do you know any tool like that for VC++.NET and C#.NET?

No.
I tried the Reflector.
The beauty of CodeVizor is it produces class hierarchy chart just like the MFC classes posters (parent/child relationships). This chart can be printed and tacked onto the wall.
That makes easy to reference for the whole team.

Hmmm I see, and no then I havent seen such a tool, but Visio could probably do it if you have it.
[edit] Did you look at the outline option in Reflector, its not graphs as such, but it mite be sufficient for your needs [edit]
