I've fixed it, but I'm puzzled as to why it happened.
Did you edit the article after Sean fixed it? If you did edit it, did you edit using the HTML that was there, or did you paste HTML from a local version of the article into the article editor?
cheers

Hi
thanks.
I do not know, when Sean fixed it. I made some correction using the HTML of the article and pasted it in some other part (I placed some images to another part).
The current article is not the last saved version.

Edgar

How can I add the list of contents in my articles?
I have read many articles about it, but I can't figure out adding that feature. Any example of that would be much appreciated.

Can I tell you a way to do it in HTML? It could be done using the article editor options, but it ain't pretty.

What's the general consensus nowadays on when it is an Article or a Tip/Trick?
|
|
|
|
|
How about I give you the official working definition?
What is an Article?
An article is typically either a tutorial that allows someone to learn about a technique or technology, or an explanation and documentation for code that you are uploading. Articles outline the problem you're trying to solve, the techniques you're using, and a simple explanation of how to use your code or techniques.
What is a Tip/Trick?
A tip has the same layout as a regular article but is meant primarily to provide a quick coding solution or tip. Tips and Tricks are not as exhaustive or extensive, nor do they require as much detail as an article to explain a problem and its solution. Articles may be several pages long, but a tip might be only a couple of paragraphs. Tips simply state a problem and a solution.
In practice:
A tip should aim to solve a problem, and should concisely state a problem and a solution. It may even include a download.
An article should aim to teach the reader about something, be it a technology, a technique, or how to use a piece of code that accompanies the article.

Thanks Chris.
One thing that I always find difficult is moderating Alternative Articles. This[^] seems to be a particular tricky one since the submission is an answer to his claim in this[^] thread being challenged.
Could you please provide a bit of guidance on that particular submission and the Alternative Article type in general?

I thought it was an alternative to an article, as opposed to an alternative article.

I deserved that.

That's an article: it's teaching you fundamental knowledge instead of providing a single specific tip.

My original question is a moot point by now. He has added a lot more to this than what was in the initial submission - I think that was only the Introduction and the first two code blocks.
When I asked, I was actually wondering if it was even worth posting as an Alternative since it could just as well have been contained within a message in the Article's forum.
Anyway, thanks for replying.

I have serious trouble editing my article <a href="http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/746051/Programming-the-Roma-Widget-Set-Csharp-X-a-zero">Programming the Roma Widget Set (C# X11) - a zero dependency GUI application framework - Part 3: Composite widgets</a>[<a href="http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/746051/Programming-the-Roma-Widget-Set-Csharp-X-a-zero" target="_blank" title="New Window">^</a>].
If i select 'view' on 'You have a new version in the works. Would you like to view or edit it?', the article overflows the page width - not in general but after the chapter 'XrwBox'.
If i select 'edit' on 'You have a new version in the works. Would you like to view or edit it?', the editor shows the table (New properties) of chapter 'XrwConstraint' but doesn't show any of the tables in subsequent chapters. Moreover the formatting gets completely corrupted (chapter 'XrwPropertyGrid' and subsequent chapters).
I'm not sure, if my tables create the problem or if my tables just make a problem visible. I use this kind of tables for a long time in codeproject articles.
You can 'Revert to last Published Version' of the article without any loss of data, if you need to retrace.
Need some help or hint. Thanks in advance.

Wow that's a big article. Is there a particular version that is perfect you wish it reverted to? Or barring that can you email me the ideal version of the HTML and I will get it sorted?
Thanks,
