Steps to repro:
- View the HTML source in my article Google Translator[^].
- Preview the article. Notice the starting comment "
// Initialize " in the <pre> block in the section "How it works" is correctly indented.
- Remove the first line containing
from the <pre> block.
- Preview the article. Notice the starting comment "
// Initialize " is now left justified - i.e. the leading spaces are no longer honored.

That's by design, though I think we can do better.
How about we make it smarter and un-indent code samples uniformly so that code is as flush-left as possible without breaking the main indenting structure.
Code samples, like paragraphs, should not be indented using spaces, they should be indented (or padded) according to a consistent style (via CSS).

OK, as long as you honor the author's indentation. IOW, a code sample should be treated as <pre></pre> content.

Absolutely. The issue for formatting though is that authors sometimes post in code snippets that are already indented 50 characters. Pulling it all left allows more code to appear on a line and make the whole thing more readable.
We're Trim ing the code in the PRE blocks. We really should be /^[\s]\n|\n[\s]$/""/ the blocks.

Hmm. Unfortunately, once a competition is created you can't delete an entry.

No problem, it was just a bit weird.
What happens if he gets selected?

To win? Well we won't award a deleted article and I assume it won't get any more votes now if that's what you're getting at ...

Any information, why all his so called "Interview" articles were nuked? I post a week ago regarding the usefulness of such series.

Without ads there would be no Code Project.
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.
|
|
|
|
|
I understand.
It's just about "accepting this fact" and not sending adds as news.
|
|
|

We do tend to have a fairly Microsoft-centric crowd here, so we post the news we feel is most relevant to our audience. Yes, some of the site we link to have annoying ads (and it's not getting any better I'm afraid - it's a sad industry trend). However, if we cut out every news site that had ads then there'd be nothing to post.
We're always happy to have our readers send in their news items. How about you provide us some suggestions[^]?
cheers

IIRC if you modified a message after 5 mins (modified) will be included in the subject header - this appears to have stopped happening - is this by design?
