Sign out and you'll notice you can no longer see the message. Search engines won't see it, nor will casual users. Signed-in members will still be able to see the evidence swaying in the breeze.
Doing so allows members to not only close questions, but also re-open questions that shouldn't have been closed.

I see. (But spam is still there. The point is: this is not a question, but comment, which appears to be more persistent ) I guess I have to write "spam removed" text instead of spam, even in the removed comment. Thank you, Chris.

Well I ask for the help of a big hammer in Spam and Abuse Forum, I give the reasons and the list of "no other way to get ride of" messages.
After a legitimation check of CP-Staff member, they have deleted the messages definitively.
And I like it that way. I agree with Chris that automated solutions could be dangerous.

Apparently, I poorly explained the idea. I did not mean fully automatic removal of posts triggered by the event when the account gets disabled. I meant manually triggered removal with the purpose of permanent removal of obvious spam posts. Can you see that this is still a problem?

Yes... I see your point. And yes... there is already a way.
As I told in my previous message. Rise the point in Abuse Forum asking for help as in this example[^]. Then after the required double check, they will get removed sooner or later.

I receive notifications of replies and such in my e-mail just fine. But a few days ago I believe I had a notification of a private message e-mail, I saw the message in CP and expected to see it in my e-mail when I got home, but it seems that it never showed up. Not even in the spam folder.
Is the private message e-mail system working?

Check your email. If you see a private email from me then yes, it's working.

Does 3b mean
You may apply (bug fixes, portability fixes and other modifications) obtained from the Public Domain or from the Author
or does it mean
You may apply bug fixes, portability fixes and (other modifications obtained from the Public Domain or from the Author)
braces are added to specify groupings of terms.
Now that I am looking at it, the "other" term probably means it is the former, but I would still like clarification.
Edit: this was originally going to a be a suggestion but changed to a question, hence it is in the wrong forum.

It's the former.

That's because, in reporting it, you closed it. You changed the state of the question.

I noticed a problem while updating an article, relating to the way the file uploader deals with files.
I uploaded a new image using the 'Browse File' and 'Upload'. The new file appeared in the file list at the top of the right column. I noticed this image dimensions were a bit big, so deleted the file from the list using the 'red x'.
On my computer, I resized the image and then went to upload using the 'Browse File'. Selected the file again (same name as 1st upload) and it gave me an error saying file already selected, but no upload button appeared.
I had to rename the file on my computer and upload that.
The file upload process appears to be remembering previously selected filename and is getting itself in a fluster.

Yeah - this one needs to be fixed ASAP. On the TODO.

Hi, my email confirmation seems to be stuck somehow, it won't send me a new email confirmation and I'd like to update some of my articles here.

I've sent you another confirmation email. Let me know if that doesn't come through.

Hi,
Privileges says that now, I can Approve/Disapprove a pending Article.
Where is it ? I can't find the entry/menu.

On the home page, in the right-hand column, underneath the "Our Community" section, there should be a widget that says "N items need approval".

Congratulations!
Please, do remember that moderation is a serious business, and that it's there for two reasons:
1) To help authors post better quality articles.
2) To prevent inappropriate articles being published. This means no approving rubbish, obviously, but also bad practices, plagiarism, and attempts to upscale tips to articles.
And we get a lot of rubbish and plagiarism!
Plagiarism gets no second chance: hit the "plagiarism" flag, hit the author with "abusive", and report both in the spam and abuse forum so we can kick them off the site.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...
