You could read the filenames into an array and sort the array.

I have a problem with a combo box on an HTML page.
The items in the combo box are larger than the control and the users can't read the
entire strings.
I'd like to be able to design the drop-down part of the combo larger
than the fixed part. How should i do?
Thanks!

Has anyone run across any good SVG tutorials, introductions or other information on how to start working with it, either on the web or in books? Any reference suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe this info will be of help. It is from the Seattle XML SIG website. Kurt's website has SVG examples and help.
Kurt Cagle is the author of the XML Developers Handbook and coauthor of the new Professional XSL book by Wrox. He is currently writing a book on SVG programming for APress. Mr. Cagle is the president of Cagle Communications, an XML and Web Consulting Company in Olympia, Washington, with a website at http://www.kurtcagle.net , and is a member of both OASIS and the Washington Software Alliance.

I am having a problem with my menu at http://www.cwd.htmlplanet.com. I am having a compatibily error with my CSS, which most of my menu is done with. In IE my page looks how I want it to look, it looks something like this:
___________________
|Header (background |
| is blue) |
|___________________|
|Content ( bgwhite) | <----- Border is Blue
| |
| |
| |
|___________________|
Althought in Netscape it has the header (background blue) with a white border and then the blue border. It looks something like this:
____________________
| ________________ <|------White border around header
| |Header (bg blue)| |
| |________________| |
| |
|Content ( bgwhite) | <----- Border is Blue
| |
| |
| |
|____________________|
Remember you can see what it looks like here http://www.cwd.htmlplanet.com
I would really like some help! If not I think I will just make a Netscape page and an IE page.
If you have any ideas that would help me I would like to know!
Thank you

MSIE's CSS implementation is full of bugs, most likely Netscape 6 or Mozilla shows your pages like they should be according to CSS standards. Anyway, first you should validate your HTML and CSS code and fix any syntax errors. Use W3C's HTML validator and CSS validator

Hi, i always wondered and still wonder how the DHTML feature in the Code Project Forums work.
Someone gave me the following code but i don't think that's what i wanted.
function Toggle(node) {
var elmref;
if (Selected != "") {
elmref = eval("document.all('" + Selected + "_h1')");
if (elmref) elmref.style.display = 'none';
elmref = eval("document.all('" + Selected + "_h0')");
if (elmref) elmref.bgColor = '#FEF9E7';
}
Selected = this.name;
elmref = eval("document.all('" + this.name + "_h1')");
if (elmref) {
if (elmref.style.display=='none') elmref.style.display='';
else elmref.style.display = 'none';
}
elmref = eval("document.all('" + this.name + "_h0')");
if (elmref) {
elmref.bgColor = '#99CCFF';
}
window.navigate("#xx" + Selected + "xx");
return false;
}
If this is the code, can someone explain this to me ?
If this is not the code, then can anyone show me a example on how do this.
Thank You !

I have a client who wants to add a feature to a website that can tell the distance between two addresses. As an example, on a moving company website the user enters in the city/state they are moving from and to, the website is updated with xxx miles between points.
Does any one know of a site or web service that can provide this?

Hello again,
Does anybody know how to create a new IHTMLDocument2 object and then add/insert elements to it?
To date, the only way i've found to initialise a IHTMLDocument2 object, has been to load up a (blank) html page and associate it with the new object.
Surely, there must be a programmatical way of creating new HTML docs a fresh, without having to load a pre-existing blank web page (i.e to use as a template) everytime?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark,
Sorry, was there supposed to be a URL or code fragment attached to your reply?

Hi,
I've got little words for your question but don't have any real code fragments that I've used.(I did some similar job what you said in your posting.)
1. Call CreateStreamOHGlobal.
(Anyway, you have to allocate some memory or object to physical memory.)
2. Init New stream object with some Text or anything else.(Not Mandatory)
3. Load stream object to your MSHTML instance.
If any of you know better COM-style way to implement this, plz comment.
Regards,
Ryan
-p.s If you're not familiar with COM, I guess your current method is sufficient.

Hello,
I am using MSHTML (in VC++)
I would like to parse a HTML doc with <object> tags in it, extract the Object(s) in question, then grab the object's parameters (<param />)
I was surprised that the MSHTML element designed to represent the <object> tag, IHTMLObjectElement, does not provide this functionality, aside from allowing you to extract class ID and name.
It seems the only way to extract the params is as a text string using IHTMLElement->get_outerHTML(),
This is a bit of a poor solution, as the reason for using MSHTML/IE's DOM in the first is to move away from hap-hazard string manipulation of HTML.
Am I missing something, or does IE/MSHTML's version of the <object> tag not include the standard <param /> functionality?
Any help on this would be appreciated,
Thanks
Roy

Hi,
With the version of IE5.0. We get the IHTMLElement "FRAME" as the active element after calling get_activeElement() function from top document even if the active element is a control or something other than the frame itself.
Does anyone know how to get this active element?

i am trying to get compaq's ipaq pocket internet explorer3.0 to display web pages that use a jvm. i have bought the jvm jeode runtime (by insignia solutions) and installed that on my ipaq. the pages i am looking to access through pocket ie pass *.jar files to browsers using the ARCHIVE attribute. however, pocket ie which forms part of WinCE uses html3.2 spec i am told, which does not support the ARCHIVE attribute introduced in later specs of html. is there an alternative way of passing the *.jar zip files of the class files to the pocket ie browser without using the ARCHIVE attribute that pocket ie doesn't seem to understand? thanks, dar.

Could anyone tell me if at all i could create the box effect which works in Netscape and IE. The Box effect i mean is the one which is there on codeproject.com on the left when you hove on a link, a box is drawn around it.
I have tried putting the many menus in that place to have a compatible version but they dont position correctly.
Eg: if you goto codeproject.com and observe the link and Say hover on the "Who's Who" cell on the left you see a box being drawn.

I would like simple javascript that performs the following task:
On mouseover of text, I need it either a pop-up or drop-down effect to occur with hyperlinks.
I'm very new at web development, so the simpler the better.
Thanks very much.
