Yes I do. I thought that i need a windows solution(or any idea) so its better to put this question in windows forum as well.

It is intranet. Can't you just use windows authentication?

Yes, I can. But my portal uses the employeeID as login id with its custom password. but for this i need to make a way out to map employeeID with domain user. But i never used windows authentication. Is there any other way of get around ?

What I am suggesting is that you totally get rid of form based authentication. You should just have windows authentication. This will eliminate all the need to maintain uses in database.
If you are managing roles and rights in database you can either move that to active directory where each role will be transformed to an AD group and based on group you set rights in code. If this is not feasible, keep authentication windows based but have authorization done in code through database tables.
Here[^] is a blog that shows how to implement windows authentication with database based authorization.

A website can always store a cookie on users device and then exchange it to see if he logged in today. If his last visit was from within 24 hours, then show him the content. Otherwise, redirect him to the authentication page.

Hello all,
I'm trying to find a way to record an HD IP camera feed in a 3rd party Windows 7 program which uses DirectShow.
I'm using a Raspberry Pi to transmit the video feed from an IP camera to a Win 7 PC.
Raspivid is installed on the Pi with the following parameters: -t 0 -w 1280 -h 720 -hf -ih -fps 20 -o - | nc -k -l 2222
I can view the video feed through Mplayer with no lag by running the command: C:\mplayer\mplayer -fps 200 -demuxer h264es ffmpeg://tcp://192.168.1.6:2222
My problem is that I cannot pipe the feed into the 3rd party program. I believe I need to have a DirectShow source filter created to do this.
Would anyone be able to create a filter to do this or could you direct me to someone who can?
I would be more than happy to compensate someone for the development time.
Thanks much,
Chuck

I would be more than happy to compensate someone for the development time. Sorry, but that is beyond the scope of this forum. People will help with your code or direct you to specific documentation, but no one will do the work for you, whether paid or not.

Reposting the same question, without any additional information in multiple forums.
If it is during painting, then read about the DoubleBuffered property. If it is during processing, check out what a thread is and move the work to a thread. If it is during construction of the form/initial show, then you probably have lots of controls on that form and should try to remove some.

You seem to have mistaken this site for Google. Over and over and over again...[^]
Rather than constantly re-posting the same terse demands for code, try typing your question into a search engine. You'll get the results much faster, and you won't end up annoying the unpaid volunteers who are here to help when you have a genuine question.

Yes, I agree, that is a good idea.

Hi All -
First, I am not a designer. It's really hard for me to come up with a design for my applications. I am not sure if I should use tiles (like windows 8 / 10) or Ribbon Bars or Metro Forms or anything for that matters.
How do people come up with really good designs for the programs?
I do not want my program to look cheesy or generic but professional.
I have looked at different software designs on google but don't see what I can use.
Thanks everyone

The main thing is:
1. Focus on the main point(s) of your application.
Now for graphic design there are some things that help user's minds take in your information easily and quickly and have a better experience.
Those things boil down to CRAP*
1. Contrast
2. Repitition
3. Alignment
4. Proximity
So, think about what you want the user to focus on in your app and then use CRAP as you sketch a drawing out on paper. Finally, turn that into your app.
*CRAP comes from the super fantastic and easy to read book:

Thank you greatly for the reply. To be honest, I think I already have CRAP for design.
I will look into the book you mentioned. Basically, my application is content management. It's specific to a certain type of industry and they will be putting in people (in a database)and things that are associated with that person. I have looked at other programs for this and they look generic and come as stock control color winforms. For anyone that thinks they can code is up for a surprise when you want it to look professional and you don't know how to have your software look and feel.

Agree 100%.
The difference between a app which is ok and really great is that
the great app
1. does what you want and
2. you can find the stuff that it does.

I have a VB.2010 program that has a Setup/Deploy project. It is one of many using the same techniques (MSI file with file exists and launch conditions)
It was been installing fine on all supported windows until now on Windows 10. It still installs fine on Windows 7.
The setup has a file exists condition requirement in a launch condition. This file is definitely on the target PC in the correct folder and is the same file used by several other vb.2010 programs that did get installed ok on this W10 PC but not this program. The message is triggered that the launch condition (file not found).
This has happened on a client's machine and ours.
Any idea why this one program's S/D can't find that file and more important how to fix it.
Thanks

i have C# Windows-Mobile program, that open frmWork form - from Main form.
my Forms Directed for:
WindowStat = Maximized
TopMost = True
FormBorderStyle = None
from Form1 to Form2 i do something like this:
this.TopMost = false;
Form FG = new frmWork();
FG.ShowDialog();
this.TopMost = true ;
i try allso do this:
Form FG = new frmWork();
FG.ShowDialog();
i try on frmWork to do something like this:
this.BringToFront();
this.TopMost = true;
But unfortunately nothing helps, Sometimes the form is opened below the main form and can not see it.
I'd love to get direction to solve the problem

Have you tried to pass the parent as a parameter with ShowDialog[^]?
Form FG = new frmWork();
FG.ShowDialog(this);

Hi,
I have created an application to get the data from bio-metric machine using C# [using Timer]. But it's not stable during its continues working. Please any one help me to design a stable scheduler program in C#.net.
Thanks
|

You need to analyse why it's not stable. Is it a problem with the hardware? Are you having threading issues? Having an effective logging and exception handling strategy will be a big step forward for you, as it should help you focus on the causes of issues.
|
|
|
|

No, It doesn't throw any exception, but show a message that "Application has stopped working", after two more days.

Then you most likely have something like a memory leak going on in there. By the way, why have you asked this in the WinForms section? Surely your application is a service.
|
|

I am sorry, Its Because, I have created a Windows Form application to do this process and to visualize my schedules and list of my machines. I have closed all my objects after its use, then how the memory leak happen?

You need to do some memory profiling. Download one of the excellent profilers available and set it away.
