While I agree, you have such companies as SpaceX, Telsa etc but as a developer community website they would all come under the "none of the above"

True and I agree somewhat. But with the question they ask they could use this information and say that 'a survey was done in which 80% of people that did the survey thought that Google was the most innovative Tech company in the world'... Where as if they specifically used the words, 'software tech company' I would accept it to use the survey information publically... But with a misleading/manipulating question like they have asked, they can only do damage.
So actually what I'm trying to say is that I dislike the survey all together... that I would say anything to discredit it. My opinion is that the person who created the survey's motives is to use it to paint a false picture of things... They are using my vote to do that.
I do admit that I might be wrong about the author wanting to use the results maliciously, but he was definitely ignorant in designing his question.

Last time I checked, both Intel and Apple produced hardware, as well as software.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

Even more reason to discredit it.
But once again, I stated the point I wanted to bring across. That is the important part of my message.
Lets forget Tech company part of the survey... all are tech companies... If I look at again, I would have rather said, something in the line of: Which of the following tech companies is the most innovative?

If you want to be like that, I'm sure the rest of the companies in that list produce both hardware and software of some sorts.

Fair enough... I just feel the survey question could have been put a little bit differently (to have given it a little less of a bias feel). It is not only I that thinks it feels bias.
Less bias example:
Which of the following tech companies are the most innovative?
* Apple
* Intel
* Microsoft
* Googe
* Bladiebladiebla
And don't get me wrong... I like the idea behind it. I love knowing who is the best of best in a particular field.
