The hacker says this demonstrates that when organizations make hacking tools, those techniques will eventually find their way to the public. Who will steal from the thieves?
I was originally planning on doing it in Latin (to sound SMRT and all), but I figured people would correct my grammar

That's fascinating... Just because it is about a registered company, not only it can create those tools, but can sell it too... If it will be on my computer I will face investigation and charges...
And for sure, those who bought it didn't meant to put it in the museum...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

The nonprofit organization told employees Thursday that it is eliminating the team tasked with bringing Firefox to connected devices, according to people familiar with the situation.

Ah, I see you have the machine that goes ping. This is my favorite. You see we lease it back from the company we sold it to and that way it comes under the monthly current budget and not the capital account.

Yeah, at least M$ knows to kill projects that are DOA before they ever arrive.
This one was dead from the beginning but they kept dancing around acting like someone was going to use it.
Umm...If I want an Android-like OS then how about I just go for umm...well...Android.
Apparently Firefox has lost its niche. Browser? Probably not. OS? Definitely not.
Maybe time to work on something completely different?

Most of the time when we see a code snippet online to do something, we often blindly copy paste it to the terminal. Even the tech savy ones just see it on the website before copy pasting. Here is why you shouldn't do this.

Am I the only b*ard who writes his own code reading the documetnation and thinking on what must be done? The only times I copied code were boilerplate from MSDN - and I always took a good look at it.

Not at all. Most of the legitimate questions are about technologies I don't know and use so I don't venture too much there.

I do that as well. If I do copy code, I paste it into a plain text editor first, just to make sure.
Most of what I do now is Lua for the OpenComputers Minecraft mod. I have a couple libraries and a service program for it. I also have ported a few other open source libraries to OC, and extended some of them.
Lua is a simple language, but it fits the nature of the mod perfectly.

One of Microsoft's growing stable of collaboration apps, 'Project Osaka,' seems to be going away before it got past the private preview stage. I think we have a new record for application lifetime

IBM insisted that we had to have a lock on the door, and we only had this closet that had a lock on it, so we had to do all our development in there, and it was always over 100 degrees, but we wrote late at night a little application to show what the BASIC built into the IBM PC could do. Imagine how good it would have been if he stayed up until 5am

I must say that I like business insider's new way of making their visitors happy.
For me, they disable the page, and pop up a huge message saying:Quote: Business Insider is er ook in Nederland.
Wij brengen elke dag wat je wil weten over ondernemen, tech, carrière en personal finance.
Like ons op Facebook en mis niks! And the little X button in the corner doesn't close it or re-enable the page.
They're too busy playing with their fb account to check their javascript, no doubt.
Either that or they know my IP address, and they don't want me going near their comments section.

With the understanding that few professional developers will ever re-create their apps for the UWP platform, Microsoft is trying a different tack. Again. Do they have cookies?
|
|
|
|
|
Microsoft's asset is the wealth of applications available on Windows. I suggest MS to ditch the UWP API and Desktop bridge totally and allow normal (.NET or native) applications to run in UWP and the only requirement is to tweak the app's UI to have UWP feel/look.
