Phew...thanks so much. Just in time. The iphone runs very fast now.
|

Sure. Instead of letting the user know their battery is no longer up to snuff and a new battery might be a good idea, they just make the phone more and more annoying to use.
Of COURSE they're not trying to make you upgrade to a newer model.

The question becomes if Apple is actually measuring actual battery performance or some metric of the various battery historical datasets; including but not limited to charge cycle data or battery age.

According to Bloomberg, Apple may give developers the option to create a single app that will work across Macs, iPads and iPhones as early as next year. After all, it worked so well for Microsoft

ION (In other news), I may allow apps to work on every device starting with the C64 and going forward.
I may.

But this time it will be Apple, so all the mags will shout from the rooftops how great an idea it is.

This is your phone on mining software. Any questions? On the bright side, you'll always have a cooktop handy?

I turn on the mining app for my Samsung Galaxy note 7 when I go to sporting events, its so much easier to lug around than a grill...the one time use thing gets a little expensive but the convenience is worth it.

With the new Windows 10 Preview Build 17063 released today to Windows Insiders, Microsoft is bringing curl and bsdtar, two popular command-line tools to the Windows toolchain. *This* will get everyone to upgrade!
And Unix sockets!

How far ahead of Apple Maps is Google Maps? Turn right at the orange blob, and stop before you hit the big red arrow in the ground
In parts an endless stream of "look at this image", "now these three", but a look into the detail and data Google has been adding into maps. And an excellent example of what happens when you cross the (big data) streams.

I'll be more impressed when they update the maps (imagery) in my area, which are about 10 years old.

When Apple's Tim Cook was asked about Google maps lead and how they plan to close the gap on the Moat Google has he said "We'll cross that bridge when we get to it...".

Analyzing facial micro-expressions yields almost 90 percent accuracy in detecting lies. Is a lawyer talking?
|

How do they know something was a lie?
Ah, "This was based on evaluations of 104 mock courtroom videos featuring actors instructed to be either deceptive or truthful."
So the headline should read; AI figures out actors. Kind of.
Doesn't matter since the real problem are the last 5-10%, which tends to be occupied with psychopaths, who pass everything, including the Spanish Inquisition--they are the people we want in jail.

Maybe the AI is smarter, they can detect psychopaths

These people just haven't done their research.
As anyone in the UK will tell you, there has been a perfectly working, 100% reliable (subject to disclaimers) lie detector in use on The Jeremy Kyle Show for several years now.
Not only does it work on actors, it also works on the "real" people who feature on Jeremy's highly educational show.
98.4% of statistics are made up on the spot.

They should have named it 404.
I've reported a couple of bugs over the years, including code to reproduce them, but nothing was ever done with them.

But if you’re thinking about taking advantage of the deals that can be had buying from second-hand and auction sites like eBay, first consider the potential risks. But it's a genuine Nokio!

This happened to me.
At first I thought it odd that I didn't get a deer or elk harvest this season.
I then discovered that the meat-grinder I bought on mBay (a.k.a."meatBay") kept sending out my gps locale to the deer and elk. The seller's name makes sense, now: HarvestNone

Quote: The easiest way to do that is to buy from reputable sources, like Amazon, big-box retailers like Best Buy or Target, or local electronics stores in your country What about the Amazon marketplace where you can get "products" from quite obscure sources or with returned goods (which might be sold as "new" or oftered as such with reduced price)?
