(Disclaimer: I didn't see the answer)
Does that really count as abuse though? Sure, it's an old question and the answer was perhaps flaggable as Not An Answer, but should we really kick someone off the site for an action that's frowned upon but could have been done in good faith?

It's generally counted as rep point farming, isn't it?
If the question was a few months old, or had no solutions, then that's one thing - but a five year old question with an accepted solution? And a posting a regex that contains "{1}?" as a repeat value?

True. It could have been rep farming or an action in good faith, but I understand that it's probably rep farming here, as the "bad regex" was actually much worse than what I had in mind

ProgramFOX wrote: It could have been rep farming or an action in good faith First post of an account created the same day? For me it smells to "I have this, let's search if there is something similar asked an I can post my (cool) answer"

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.
