And, given ms' record for quality software, over the past ten years, you just know that everyone will immediately rush to uninstall their third-party sandboxes.

Vitaminwater has announced that it is raising a challenge for smartphone addicts: ditch the gadget for a year and win a whopping $100,000. *Puts down phone for 5 minutes* I can totally do this. *10 minutes pass* What time is it?

That's their get-out for not paying up. Obviously you can't prove someone didn't use a smartphone for a whole year so I imagine that even if you didn't use a smartphone you'll somehow still fail their "test".

That's gotta be on the up-and-up.
I mean, when a company named "vitaminwater" says something, you can be sure it's not a scam.

I have to say that this facebook antitrust stuff is all a complete surprise to me.
I mean, who could possibly have predicted that having a kiddie in charge of an advertising company that cons people into handing over all their personal data would be a problem?
My only regret is that I don't even remember which newsgroup I posted to, about three days after facebook opened its site.

According to a Hacker News post by Joshua Bakita, who served as an intern on Edge team, Microsoft was basically left with no choice but to join the Google fold. How Google Made the Web Slower and Asserted Dominance

One wonders if said former intern has disabled a career outside MS, or enabled a career inside MS with this.
My jaded voice-of-experience says he's disabled both, and that, labeled a whistle-blower, he will not be working for any major company.

so this is what happens at msft.. some interns get to work on a major new browser project ..but they end up watching cat videos on youtube...and do not know what the heck to code .. as if you tube does not work on internet explorer .. a bad worker always blames his tools

Ironically, MS used to be accused of doing this kind of thing when the desktop was where it was at and they were top dog.

What a ridiculous claim. The guy is obviously trying to salvage his career by blaming his c0ck-ups on someone else.
ms didn't need any help at all in turning its browser into a dog.

In recent years, researchers have found that the accuracy of the software gets better and better as they build deeper networks and amass larger data sets to train them. A landmark 2012 paper transformed how software recognizes images.

Have you ever been to a website where the back button just doesn't work? In these instances, you press "back" to go back but instead you just end up at the same page where you started. A new commit on the Chromium source (first spotted by 9to5Google) outlines a plan to stop weird website schemes like this Good. Whoever lives by the credo of "do no wrong" needs to meet more web developers.
