A new "demographic inference" tool developed by academics can make predictions based solely on the information in a person's social media profile (i.e. screen name, biography, profile photo, and name). I guess that saves you from reading their profile?

Based on the headline, that could be done with a few lines of code. Further, it can predict age and gender based on nothing at all.

Big deal. Without knowing anything whatsoever about a person, I can predict their gender with 50% accuracy!
From the fact that they have a Twitter account, I can predict whether their IQ is above or below the 50th percentile with almost 100% accuracy!
Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

Age - don't they get that from the birth date field?
Gender - First, I'm really surprised the liberals allowed this to happen, given the three dozen genders are now available to choose from, and second, technologically, this is an impressive accomplishment given the number of semi-offically recognized genders there are available to pick from.

Developer-focused analyst firm RedMonk, known for publishing one of the leading indices that measure programming language popularity, has noted the growth of Microsoft's TypeScript, stating it's "exploding" in relation to other languages. "Blowed up good. Blowed up real good!"

An article about a Microsoft technology "exploding" in popularity, from a Microsoft publication... No conflict of interest there...

In this post, we’ll take a tour through some of the many improvements, big and small, that have gone into the .NET Core runtime and core libraries in order to make your apps and services leaner and faster. "Hey, buddy, how can I get this car out of second gear?"

I didn't see anything about new icons, or the use of Typescript (it is "eploding", afterall) in conjunction with .Net Core...

They're still optimizing the go faster stripes on the new icons ahead of the big reveal.

Tech support scams have always been a problem, but they typically were located on small web hosting services throughout the world. Researchers have now observed these scams increasingly moving towards the Microsoft Azure cloud platform for ease of deployment and inexpensive web hosting. Yay for "The Cloud"

I document as I go. You should see the docs included in my MVC5 app project template. Over 30 HTML files, and half a dozen visio docs that describve what the code does, why it does it, and where to find the various components. I do admit to roundly trashing Entity Framework (that took two files). In many of the files, there are almost as many comments as there are lines of code.
Nobody will be able to complain (much) that I didn't document something. I've never been accused of not leaving enough transition documentation behind.
