Excellent. This means that my older Windows 10 machines won't have to deal with Windows 11. I'll ensure Windows 11 is on my new equipment but the older stuff will all be gone by 2025.

North Korean-backed hacking group Lazarus has added the Windows Update client to its list of living-off-the-land binaries (LoLBins) and is now actively using it to execute malicious code on Windows systems. They're working for Microsoft now?

Of course,
how else is North Korea gonna get Windows Maps for their intercontinental missiles

The demand for data science is growing fast, yet recruiters are struggling to find data scientists that can help them move their digital ambitions forward. Wear a lab coat next time you're querying your database

Technology professionals only have so much precious time outside of their regular jobs or gigs to learn new skills. Industry experts suggest a broader approach to skills development. Spruce needles are sharp, fir needles are friendly, and pine needles are in pairs

I'm amazed that people take themselves seriously. Evergreen skills? Yet before you sit down for an interview (or video call), what's the first thing that occurs? Please take this test.

Inspired by the blog posts by Stephen Toub about performance in .NET we are writing a similar post to highlight the performance improvements done to ASP.NET Core in 6.0. Just in case you like your websites to be faster

The AI easily shatters previous world records by prioritizing clearing four-line tetrises. Then the game completely melts down. Then they came for our blocks and I did nothing as I have switched to Bejeweled
I know you were expecting Candy Crush there...

More of a street fighter puzzle fighter person myself. Very satisfying to watch the characters in the middle beat the snot out of eachother while dropping large loads of blocks on your opponent after a satisfying chain of block busting. I'm a sucker for adding violence to an otherwise civil game of puzzle strategy.

I’ve written before on the problems of hero culture. "We don't need another hero. We don't need to know the way home."

That's a nice theory and all, but what happens when you have a team full of rookie programmers with little/no experience beyond simple homework assignments?
".45 ACP - because shooting twice is just silly" - JSOP, 2010 ----- You can never have too much ammo - unless you're swimming, or on fire. - JSOP, 2010 ----- When you pry the gun from my cold dead hands, be careful - the barrel will be very hot. - JSOP, 2013

It's a demonstration of the stopped clock principle at work; but 4chan culture totally nailed it when they defined "an hero" as committing suicide.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Though it is straightforward to implement, the Trusted Platform Module has some problems with AMD’s technology that include audio glitches and stuttering frame rates. It's the 'Trusted' module, not the 'Performance' module

I must be missing something, but isn't this an open door?
When you're missing some skill in your team you can hire someone with those skills, but a single person on the team probably isn't going to cut it, so you'll have to train your employees anyway.
Of course it's easier to train people when there's a pro on the team already, but not necessary.
Besides, you don't want to depend on a single person anyway, but you probably don't need more than one or two pro's and one or two people who can at least read and support the technology.
Also, someone who knows the product and the new skill could be much more valuable than someone who has the skill, but is new on the team and the product.
Besides, you should give employees the possibility to renew their skills once in a while anyway.
"An employer once said, "What if I train my people and they leave?" I say, what if you don't train them... and they stay..." -- Evan Kirshenbaum
I'm just really surprised managers actually need an official report for this kind of stuff
"A new report suggests managers should not forget to breathe, 60% of the managers who did not breath died while 40% landed in the hospital. However, when managers did not breath, productivity and employee morale went up."
