If the web sites were not bloated with tons of Javascript / Google Ads and all the ing unnecessary crap that make it fancy and writen with all the newest buzzword bingo features...
It is the same with software, the more resources computers have, the more resources waste the programs.

Windows 11 22H2 was just released, and with it comes a new security feature called Enhanced Phishing Protection that warns users when they enter their Windows password in insecure applications or on websites. And what if I want to log into Notepad?

But... would the opposite have surprised you?

They'll flip the default next year.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

sounds like just machine password, which doesn't need to go to cloud to check hash
what im puzzled on is things like notepad, I would assume this feature is also enabled when bit lock, or drive encryption is on, so would need to log into user to get that file, which you already have user login, so makes no sense.
plus I prefer someone log a list of passwords - but not along side the username for family/friends recover in event of emergencies. passwords on their own should not be scaring people to high heaven, its poor news report, and techno fearing

Quote: Pichai was asked, in a question that was highly rated by staffers on Google’s internal Dory system, why the company is “nickel-and-diming employees” by slashing travel and swag budgets at a time when “Google has record profits and huge cash reserves,” as it did coming out of the Covid pandemic.

I think this change, insert a two second drop packets delay on the source IP after a failed SMB login attempt, should be done on file servers as well to make them more resistant to DDoS attacks.
