It saves a spreadsheet in as particular directory with a specified name but if it encounters a file of the same name already there and you click no to the save it then dies with error 1004. The error is that it is finsindg an existing file of the same name and then falls over when you click no or cancel as oppsed to yes because the function is saveas hence the saveas has failed. Ie each time it is opened it will be given a unique id no by the user into a particular cell on the sheet. I would like to be able to click on a button to close the spreadsheet and save it as the id no in a name directory - say c:/mydocuments. So my directory will fill up with lots of uniquely named spreadsheets. I had to go into the folder options in Windows Explorer and choose to view all folders -- hope this solves your problem.
