You could have the link return a redirect to a page that is refresh-safe.

Yeah, I guess could redirect to call itself with display parameters instead.

Hi All,
I have made a messenger application in asp, in which through One file (suppose fileA.asp), user enters the message.
Now this file is in a frame on the file chat.asp and also there is one more frame on chat.asp, in which I call a file
(suppose fileB.asp) in which I display the messages. I am displaying the messages entered in fileA.asp through javascript
parent.document.frame1.write(msg) to fileB.asp.
All is working fine, Now my problem is, in fileB.asp the scrollbar should be always at the last msg but it remains at the
position it was.
I am writing onLoad="this.scrollTo(0,65000);" in the message I am sending through javascript but it doesnt work, while if I
view the source and copy it to fileB.asp then scrollbar comes at end. please help??
i.e. basically the problem is, if the content is actually there inside the target file of the frame then by writing
onLoad="this.scrollTo(0,65000);" the scrollbar comes at the end, but if same thing is passed to it through
frame.document.write then the scrollbar doesn't come at the end.
The code :
fileA.asp :
<%@ Language=VBScript %>
function send()
{
varMsg = document.form1.text1.value;
parent.frm1.document.write('<HTML><HEAD><META NAME=GENERATOR Content=Microsoft Visual Studio
6.0><TITLE></TITLE></HEAD><BODY bgcolor=#FAF5E6 onLoad="this.scrollTo(0,65000);"><font color=black><b> ab says
: </b></font><font
color=red>'+varMsg+'a<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<b
r>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br>ab<br></font><br></body></html>'); //
done 05092003
}
fileB.asp :
<%@ Language=VBScript %>
chat.asp :
Thanks in anticipation

Just need a little clarification: Are you trying to get the row index of a particular value in a database table or in the result of a query? I'm assuming this is a database question, since you mentioned MySQL (in which case this should probably be in the SQL/ADO/ADO.NET forum).

If you're using one of the mysql_fetch_* routines, just keep a running counter as you fetch each row.
I apologize if this doesn't answer your question; the question still seems a bit vague.

Is it possible if i wanna append xml data and upload picture at a same time using the same form?
The problem i'm facing now is, when i add the 'multipart/form-data', i can't append the xml data
I know there's one solution, using 2 FORM but the project i'm doing now is designed to be put them both (file type for upload and textarea for append) together
Besides, i have no idea how to encode or decode the posted data

Thanks, but not quite what I am looking for.
Picture this scenario. You are hosting a website for a client. Nothing too fancy. They have the capability to visit the administration url for their site, giving them a web page that allows them to modify the layout/content of their hosted pages.
Something along the lines of the "PageBuilder" offered by (GeoCities[^]) is what I am interested in.

do WAP diddy WAP do.
Anyway, I'm mulling over creating some WAP-enabled surfing on my site. I haven't really done much beyond think about it, to be honest. Has anyone created WAP content before? Is it a big can o'worms I'd be opening? Or essentially a matter of creating a couple web pages on a server that can handle the protocol?
Thanks.

I think you will find it to be easy enough. There are some things to consider first. Remember that the user must download the content to their phone so you want to be sure that you are not giving them a huge mess of info that will take 2 minutes to load.. lol
But seriously with the newer browsers and screens there is a lot that you can do.
this should get you started.

now this is a REAL BIG problem
i'm using window XP (hope this is not the reason)
i cant create a file in my computer but it works on my school server
**********************************************
Set fso = Server.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
Set OutputXMLFile = fso.CreateTextFile("c:\xx.htm",true)
**********************************************
everytime i run this method my IE hang(???)
so, is it my IIS configuration problem or else

Might not be the problem but its a common mistake to forget to set permissions..
Are you sure that you have permission to create a file?
To be honest, It should come up with an error, not crash...
Hope you sort yourself out...
