I have two accounts, one (this one) that I use regularly and often from my office, one that I use (more rarely) from home. The office account posts immediately, the home account gets checked and posts some time later. Makes sense, I guess.

I've reduced the choice of monitors to those two:

In both cases I'd get two of them.
This said, I own a Thinkpad P14s Gen 2 with USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (NO THUNDERBOLT). Would both monitors work with that laptop?
Would it be possible to daisy chain the two monitors using USB C or Display Port?
Nowadays I have two QHD monitors connected to a dock station that works using that USB C 3.2 Gen 2 connector and it works well... but I am tired of the dock failures (I must reconnect both displays every time I get into the office).

Nope, way too expensive and I don't know if I am ready to switch to the curved/wide thing...
I am way to used to be able to maximize a window into one of the displays... Something I would not get in a curved/wide display.
Thanks for posting. But I am more interested in knowing if the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 on my laptop would be enough to drive the displays I mentioned in my original post.

The $ angle might be mitigated with a different model.
Once you go curved, you will not swerve?
The way most people will mount two screens on an arm and angle them inward, most of these curves really closely match that. (And you don't need to buy a mounting arm if it's just one monitor on its own stand)
The maximization stuff...
Hold the win-key and play with the arrow keys. There's maximize (up), dock left (left), dock right (right), and minimize (down). You'll find this useful maybe no matter how you set things up. With multi-monitor the same keys can move stuff between screens and such.
In newer Windows versions if you drag a window towards the top, you will get something like this image allowing you various options for how to arrange things:

I really like the one big screen setup without bezels in the middle of things.
With multiple monitors one can also go out and when that happens it can sometimes be hard to find a matching replacement. Even if you buy the same make/model, they can have different display characteristics. The variances between the different ones can be harder on the eyes as going back and forth can require slightly different things from your eyeballs to focus.

I already have 2 mounting arms (for my current displays) (so no money impact here).
I use extensively Win key and arrows, always... in two monitors configuration you have the same behavior but with two monitors so you can arrange the windows in the same way but in two monitors (this is what I would miss more with only one monitor)
i.e. I can press windows + Up in both displays and have two applications maximized...
Same can be applied to the way windows 11 handles the drag + choose where to place the window.
Everything else is a win for a big single monitor.
But truly, something with USB C that would work with my current laptop, with DQHD resolution, wide enough to replace two 27" QHD monitors, IPS, that would be able to act as two physical displays sometimes, with a USB + Ethernet hub... I don't know if that exists at a reasonable price tag...

That last bit... the one I posted has a built in KVM for USBC (and I think 2 USBA-haven't sorted exactly how the ports all work). It does not have a built-in router which would be real cool of them to do since it's already a fairly big box of everything. The monitor itself has only a single cable running to that box for power and everything.
I had their original Odyssey and it was the best tech purchase I ever made.
The new one seems great so far but not even had it a week. It could be 1/2 as tall like the older one. I'm thinking they doubled the height just so they could use their same TV panels. A setting sets it to 32:9 PC output and then lets you use the other top/bottom half for another PC or for TV and a few apps they bundle. It can be set to 16:9 or 24:9 too though.
It sounds like what you might want is whatever monitors you find, not worrying about many of their features and something like this:

We have an internal web-based dashboard that shows the current or last state of most of our automation apps and their tasks. Each app is listed and color-coded to indicate its state: green for okay/information only, yellow for an error, red for a critical error. I want to add symbols to aid in quickly determining these states without resorting to colors for any folks with a color vision deficiency.
Is there a standard or widely used set of symbols that represent those three states? If not, what symbols would you suggest?

Thanks. I was considering the warning triangle for errors, and debating the use of either a fire or a fire extinguisher for criticals. Currently no symbol means the app hasn't reported anything.

I don't know if there is a standard but here's what I have used in the past :
check mark = OK
exclamation = Error
big X = Critical Error
I used these because there are icons in a variety of styles and sizes available for all of them, such as for the message boxes in windows.

Thanks. Those are also available in various HTML character sets which are easier to use than image icons. I'm using the check mark elsewhere, so I might need to find an alternative for one case.

Um, how about words? In the past icons used to make sense, but now they are often times just a symbol that no one can initially decipher (hence your question).

Don't forget to include the words for screen readers, even if they're not visible to regular browsers. Maybe using the aria-label[^] attribute.

I'd look at MesageBox icons, they're universal and most people get the meaning.
