What is the Purpose of the “Transient” Keyword...

User has added a link to his blog at the end. To me that means a site driving attempt.
Though I see others approve of the article.
My question is, how do I make that call? Whether to approve or report in such cases?

In this case you have two links at the end.
1) To the "next entry" in the blog added by the Author
2) The one to the current blog entry added automatically when imported
This situation is always a bit tricky. The authors write in their blog, so linking to other articles in their own blog is logical and usual. We should close an eye and let it through if it is not abused. This concrete article contains only the #1 link, which in my opinion is still under the "not abused" opinion.

Yea in this case it seems pretty harmless. I think this is actually a situation where the author is new, and he doesn't know that the link back to the original source is automatically put at the end of the post. So he's essentially sharing the same link twice in a row.
None of his blog entries come through properly formatted or with a thumbnail so I've been editing them manually, and will just start taking the second, redundant link out.

I do not think so. The first link is for me not to the own source, I think it is to a "do you want to know more" second entry...
