Please help,
I have done an beginner application, I need to change the color the title bar of the form to be yellow instead of blue.
Thank you for you help

You have two choice:
First change color of windows title bar! All form changed
Second you can simulate title bar in a form without title bar with a picturebox and 3 command.
For example mail to me to post an example code for you

I want to load a microsoft word document into a windows application form. The document that is loaded acts a background image in the form which allows the Tablet PC's user to write something on the form. After that, it allows the user to save the form into the database. Is there a way to solve this problem. Thanks.

Hello
I have a small question.
Do i need to call the Recordset.Close before i set it to nothing?
Or the destructor will close it?
Set oRsAdmin = oDb.Execute("SELECT * FROM tbAdmin " & _
"WHERE User = '" & UserId$ & "'")
oRsAdmin.Close
Set oRsAdmin = Nothing
OR
Set oRsAdmin = Nothing
Thank you

Hello Everybody
I access the data as follows..
Check Box Order Number Entered By Qty Total Qty 25
1 ab 10 Entered BY ab
2 xy 15
3 xy 6
4 ab 15
5 mn 21
6 rs 21
Now I like to put check mark to group the orders entered by same person and see what would be the total quantity . Ex. Another columns which expalin that when there is a check mark against ab the that would be total qyantity and the name of the person.
I hope I explain clearly. I need help here.. How can I do that?
I am new to Vb.net. Pl. let me know.

I'am new to VB and doing a little dibbling. When I create a form and want to have a label/text or a picture capable of draging and droping on any part of my form? I am using a picture on the form and want to be able to move lables/text or other picture boxes from one location to another on the picture.

I am relatively new to VB, using VB6; and working on a project that needs to be able to allow someone to type into a text box a name and then click a button to have it search through a certain drive's folders for Excel or Word files that have that the name somewhere in the file.
I have found some codes on the net that can do close to that, BUT I need the people using this application to be able to double-click on the file from the list of ones returned and be able to have that file open up in either Excel or Word depending on the extension.
Using oshell.FindFiles seems to get me the closest to accomplishing what I want by just pulling up the Window's Serch box; but how can I make the "containing text" box stand out, or tell it to look at .xls and .doc files, and OLNLY from certain directories in a certain drive?
Is oshell.FindFast what I should be trying to do this on or is there another way?
Thanks for any help anyone can offer; it is mucho appreciated!

I have 2 class libraries and a Windows Application that use a common set of of structures and classes to pass and manipulate data. Each is written in VB.NET. My thinking was to create a public module, shared through Source Safe so a GetLatest would at least update all projects before a build. Now, many of the public and private methods within each class library pass data types that include some of these "shared" structures and classes.
I was planning on simply including that public module in each of these projects so the type information would be common knowledge. However, it doesn't work... the compiler says (for instance in the Windows application) that the type should be ClassLibrary1.modPublicStructures.clsMyClass and not MyWindowsApp.modPublicStructures.clsMyClass.
Now, I KNOW I can simply create yet another class library that contains this set of common classes and then add a reference to that new class library to each of these projects... but that's now ANOTHER DLL added to the project. Surely there's another way to accomplish this.

Hi
Here's the problem: Trying to generate reports using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET (specifically VB.NET) , using a MySQL database doesn't seem to work with any kind of Left Outer Join. The link type setting ( =, <=, != etc...) also confuses me. HELP HELP HELP! If you have any information, need more information from me to help, or know who i can ask, please e-mail me at cnight@webmail.co.za. Thanks for your time.

You have 2 options:
1. Add a property Get "specControl" (or whatever name you want) to your MyControl with return type specControl. This makes the all properties/methods of specControl accessible for the outside world. A thing to be aware of is that you test/handle _every_ possible combination of specControl and MyControl, because you don't have control over specControl anymore.
2. This is usually a better solutions although looks like/is duplicating code. Add properties of specControl to MyControl which you want to make available to the outside world. In the implementation of those properties you're internally forwarding to specControl. With this option _you_ are in control of specControl.
Hope this helps.

I'm trying to invoke a method of a web service which is running with the basic authentication. I'm using MS Soap Toolkit 3.0's low level API's to invoke a web service method. Following code is used to set the authentication details..Connector.Property("AuthUser") = "userid" and Connector.Property("AuthPassword") = "pwd"..but I'm receiving an error always.
here's the error message
Error 401--Unauthorized xxx
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:

If anyone has encountered this type of problem before and got solution for this problem, please let me know immediately.

I am using the SendMessage API to read text from a textbox in a third party application.
I am calling it using the following command:
Win32API.SendMessage(hwnd, WM_GETTEXT, textlength, mymessage)
where hwnd is an Int32 representing the textbox handle;
WM_GETTEXT is a constant
textlength is the number of characters to be retrieved; and
mymessage is the string to store the info.
Everything seems OK apart from the fact that when I try and display the string it simply appears as a series of blobs.....not readable text (see below).

This is my first foray into the world of Win32 APIs and VB.Net so your help would be much appreciated.
