Hi there everyone
I recently have a project on developing an Interactive Location Determintion System using GSM/SMS.It involves the study on using PDA (Handspring Palm) to control the Wavecom GSM module and the possibiltiy of multiplexing its control between a GPS module and the WaveCom GSM module.
Well,i really have no idea on how to start.The main purpose now is write a program for Handspring Palm to send SMS to a module which in transmit the message to a mobile phone will do.I have to use the codewarrior software with c language and AT commands.If this is successful, the next step would be for the mobile phone to auto send back the location of the user.Its like a small tracking device.For the second part,my supervisor told me to think about how to modify the serial ports on the palm to be able to mutliplex between the 2modules i mention earlier.Can anyone out there please give my some hints on how to start this project.I would be better if someone who had done something similiar please share your program with me.Right now,i need the codes for sending SMS.The SMS program need not be a complicated one.I"am now more on a rush on the SMS part.
Please reply ASAP if any one can help.Thanks a lot.

I have an Epson TM-T88II point of sale printer that is attached to a cash drawer. I have managed to find the escape sequence that opens the cash drawer but I cannot find the escape sequence that causes the printer to cut the paper at the end of printing a document. Can anybody help me out?
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Hi,
I need to implement graphical diagram for our product.
Its use is for graphical representation of data binding between controls and between tiers (right term? I mean which client to which server.).
I have littl idea about this yet, and would be very grateful if there are any good free code for starting point.
And..the worst act for my scenario is..
1.Say, when user loads data from disk, I know connection data between diagrams (controls) but have no information about graphical representation.
Then how can I draw visual connection between diagrams without intersection?
And how can I decide the best-viewing to user? Any Ideas?
2.Without #1's answer,should I archive all graphical connections between diagrams?
If so, how can I archive connection line's data to disk?
I guess there should be "node" concept, but it's hard to "HOW".
So I'm searching the best fitting free code for fast and reliable development.
Any suggestion? Thanks a million.
Regards,
Ryan

I think SetCursorPos will do the trick.
You can find more information here:

I am using the SetCursorPos but this only moves the cursor, but what I need is to do a drag operation. So I need to cause a click and have the mouse button pressed until the drag operation is complete. How is it possible to keep the mouse button down.
Thanks

You are right.. I misread your message, thought you wanted to just move the pointer.
I would try sending a message to the window directly, you should obtain the Window Handle and then send a couple of message, maybe a WM_LBUTTONDOWN and a WM_MOUSEMOVE, I'm not sure how this is going to interact with the messages that the actual mouse is generating, perhaps SetCapture can help here..

Hello,
I am trying to automate a task through the reading of a subject line in Microsoft Outlook. A certain subject line would trigger the running of another program, in this case, VisBuild.
Does anyone know how I could go about to do this, using either Visual Basic or Visual C++?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hello Melissa,
I am sure that there is a programatic interface to do what you want, however I have to ask if you have considered using the built-in Outlook Rules Wizard.
You can "Start an Application" based on specific words that exist on your subject line. This may satisfy your needs depending on your version of Outlook and whether you want this to be a client or server side rule.

can you explain "programmparadise ftp server" ?

A bit of common sense might tell you to look at www.programmingparadise.com and further look at the code for Vikas Yadav's ftp server code as a starting point. But then people are lacking in strange ways.

I would like to see detailed article or the fragments of a code devoted to features of a printing graphics to the printer. In particular filling of areas by brushes, others than pattern and solid
|
|
|
|
|
You can only use solid brushes, because you need to stretchblt to a print DC. Anything else simply will become a dithered solid colour when you stretch it up.
Did I answer a version of this question in the C++ forum ? Maybe you should explain what you're trying to do ?

The problem is to force the following code correctly print to the printer:
CMyView::OnDraw(...)
{
CBitmap m_bitmap;
m_bitmap.LoadBitmap(IDB_...);
CBrush m_brush;
m_brush.CreatePatternBrush(m_bitmap);
CBrush * pOldBrush = pDC->SelectObject(&m_brush);
pDC->Rectangle(0, 0, 300, 300);
pDC->SelectObject(pOldBrush);
}
This code correctly draw on the screen, but on the printer is a empty rectangle?
|
|
|
|
|
To reiterate: a pattern brush cannot be stretched, and you need to stretchblt or set different logical units to compensate when drawing to a print DC. Therefore you cannot, cannot, print using a patternbrush. You'll need to grab the bitmap and stretchblt it instead.

Not with a pattern brush, no. To fill in any figure, define it as a path and stretchblt a bitmap into it.
