Is there a way to turn off the "clickability" or to make dead an imagebutton?
I use one for a tab. The tab has 2 images, one for on state and one for off state. I need an additional state...a dead state for the selected tab. In other words, the selected tab is on and "not clickable".
Is this possible?

Hello~
How do you connect an HTML to a database? I heard that it can be done using Visual Basic... Are there any tutorial out there that might help? I'm currently trying to make an online member registeration website~ I'm clueless right now...

You'll need to include some scripting in your HTML code to communicate with the data store. Google on ASP or PHP for examples, or check out the beginner stuff on this site. CodeProject has several good articles on data access, but you'll need to study quite a few of them to get a solid understanding of the process. A good one to begin with is Chris Maunder's article on accessing MS Access databases using ADO[^]. It's far from complete, but a good start.

I think these companies have significant capital and deals with phone companies to do this sort of thing. Unless you have a lot of money and/or want to make a real business venture out of it, I don't think it's probably the best sort of project to work on for purely educational purposes.

Does anyone know of a good article, white paper, source of information on digital signatures? Would be much appreciated thanks.
p.s. I am asking after actual signatures as in a person signs an eletronic form with his signature. Not as in XML signatures or encryption etc.

If you are talking about capturing a signature then there is a Microsoft sample for Pocket PC using Compact Framework. The app captures signature on Pocket PC and displays on Desktop.
The sample is here.

Hello!
I am trying to make the following possible:
1. User accesses Page1.asp and enters some credentials.
2. Page1 posts to Page2.asp which after some things uses a COM component (inproc dll) to do encryption (I have written code for RSA encryption usinf Windows Crypto API)
3. The reponse is the encrypted data.
Problem: Everything works fine when client and server are all on the same machine. However when the client accesses Page1 from another machine, the error returned is from the CryptAcquireContext method: Keyset does not exist.
What I have tried to do to solve this problem:
1. Created another component (this time a local server, COM exe) which does the encryption work. The dll merely routes the call to the component. This was done to test Inproc vs Outproc issues.
2. Tried to change access permissions in the RSA directory under localsettings\all users etc
3. Used the following to acquire crypt context:
if(!::CryptAcquireContext(&hProvider, NULL, MS_ENHANCED_PROV, PROV_RSA_FULL, 0)) {
if(!::CryptAcquireContext(&hProvider, NULL, MS_ENHANCED_PROV, PROV_RSA_FULL, CRYPT_NEWKEYSET)){
::CryptAcquireContext(&hProvider, NULL, MS_ENHANCED_PROV, PROV_RSA_FULL, CRYPT_MACHINE_KEYSET);
}
}
None of the approaches have worked, and the problem is always failure to get the Crypto Context handle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

In my script I try to open an URL programmatically. This is no problem :
<br />
Set IEApp = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")<br />
IEApp.Navigate "http://www.mydomain.com"<br />
<br />
Do While (IEApp.Busy = true)<br />
WScript.Sleep 200<br />
Loop<br />
Aftwards I would like to access to a login form and set username and password to specific values. This is where things get complicated:
<br />
Set IEDoc = IEApp.Document<br />
The object I get is from type HtmlDocument, which is read only and contains pure html tags. I cannot use it to access to forms and elements.
Does anybody know how I can access these elements ?
Regards
Daniel

Hi,
We have developed a windows based MFC application which, parts of which work with OpenGL. The application itself loads and manipulates a large number of images (not all at the same time). A number of clients are asking if we can develop a stripped down version of the software that could work as a viewer working over an internet/intranet network from within a web browser, probably Internet explorer.
Which technology would be best to get the application going, the application will require one main view (quite large) with a tool bar and a context menu. Can anyone point me towards a good example?
Thanks in advance

Hi! I need to filter some html tags from an ASP variable. I tried coding it by hand and, although it works fine, it's unacceptably slow. So I thought, maybe with a regexp it could be better. Problem is, I don't know how to create regexp patterns! Can you help me in creating it?
I have img tags embedded in the variable. I want to replace the img tags that don't have the height parameter, or whose height value is bigger than 150, with the Server.HTMLEncode d version of the same tag.
If you can help me, I'll offer you a drink and my eternal gratitude

I can help you with the HTML tag stripping but not the other one: <(.|\n)+?>
Look forward to the delivery of your eternal gratitude. FedEx are good, don't use UPS, they drop boxes.

The problem with regular expressions is that they don't have numerical checking. So basically you can't check for a number in the normal way. You could probably check using this sort of method:
([1-9]|([0-9]+[0-9]))([5-9][0-9])
I think that should work, but you'd have to try it. The other part, of course, is matching strings that DON'T have a certain word, in your case, the height tag. This took me ages to work out how to do, but I eventually worked it out. You have to use a "negative look-ahead match", which basically says, "match this character if it is NOT followed by the next string". So you basically specify what comes first, then use brackets to group together acceptable characters (in the following example, anything that isn't a triangle bracket), and INSIDE the brackets, you put a negative lookahead match, then close the brackets and put a + or *. This seems to work nicely. So the following regular expression should work in checking for an image tag that doesn't contain a height field. You'll have to run an additional search to find img tags that have a height field but are more than 150 in height.
<img(([^<>](?!height))*)>
replace with:
<$1>
This, unfortunately will invalidate tags that have height in an alternate context, for example, a tag like this:
<img src="http://heights.com/x.gif">
Regular expressions can be tricky to explain. Check out microsoft's site for more info, that's where I learned.

Can you cite a couple of examples? Posting a code snippet that returns incorrect results would be helpful here.
