Isn't it time you worked with other people like yourself? Would you like to join a team of .NET Developers from deep technical backgrounds using Java J2EE or COM/COM+, not Web Developers who've jumped on the C# bandwagon? Do you want to work on the very latest commercial .NET projects in high profile blue-chip companies? Develop OSS products like NMock, CruiseControl .NET & NUnit? Would you like to join one of the only companies that is doing Agile.NET? Then ThoughtWorks might be the place for you. We are keen to hear from Developers with either 4 years exp of Java who have moved into .NET more recently, or seasoned COM/COM+ Developers with a deep understanding of OO, design patterns (we have written a book with Microsoft) & unit testing who have been working with C# & .NET since beta version. We are looking for high energy, passionate Developers who are keen to join a consultancy with the highest technical standards. Isn't it about time you worked with other people who are as good as you are?The salary for this permanent role is highly negotiable and depends on experience. We are looking for people in various global locations including London - UK, Calgary - Canada, USA, Bangalore - India and Australia. We are working on large scale projects for global 1000 clients. You must be extremely flexible about travelling and commuting. Please refer to www.thoughtworks.com for further information and details of how to apply.

Should one get an MCSD.NET ??!!

I personally think certifications are worthless as an alternative to a college degree. With that being said it really is all about what your motives are for getting the certification. If you are intrested in learning more about MS developing then by all means go for it. If you are thinking it is a quick way to boost your salary then you might want to think again.

I did.
One benefit it that it focuses you to study area about .NET that you may not have worked in. The projects you are on may direct you to only a few areas of focus.
Working on your certification can give you a broader understanding of .NET

Hi,
I am planning to take the C# Windows Cert (70-316), is the test difficult. So far from waht I have seen it seems like it's mostly theories and not really a lot to do with syntax.

It's been a while since I took it and I can't remember much. The demo from Transcender is usually pretty similar in structure to the questions on the exam. It's not actual questions but similar so you at least have an idea what you're in for. If you can afford it you might want to buy a full version but I've never been able to do that myself. Good luck.

Any opportunity to meet and mingle with other developers may grow into a possible job opening. The key is to get to know people while you're there - spread your business card around, introduce yourself, chat with new people about your interests and theirs. Simply attending won't do the trick, you have to be friendly and keep your ears open to conversations going on around you that you can comfortably join.

I am working on VC++ SDK programming for the past 4 months and am much impressed with it. But I am into customisations rather than development. I have recently bought Petzold : Program. Windows. but learning VC seems to be a lengthy proposition and I have a year of Web Programming exp. in Java.
Can u guys help me in this dilemma , is it ok if I dive into Windows prog. or maybe system(C) programming.
I have done my bachelors in Computer Science.
Regards

Hey,
I am currently a student, senior year college. This summer I picked up Petzold Windows Programming and started going into it. I do it because I am interested and would like to pursue in the Windows direction; however I know I still have much more to learn about the theory and databases and things like that.. that actually makes a program run.
I have the fear of time running out too soon.

So I've decided I'm no longer am excited about my job. I know I shouldn't care in the context of the job market, but I'm selfish and arrogant. Where is everyone looking/posting jobs at right now. I work for a larger company through consulting firm, but I would like to look on my own as well.
