The return is supposed to be inside the function

sorrie i dont get u
then how should i write it?
|
|
|
|

Remove the return 0; - it isn't needed (void functions don't return anything). It is also after the closing } so it is outside the function and therefore an error is generated.

thx alot it is solved
now i get another error
LINK : fatal error LNK1181: cannot open input file "fltk.lib"
how should i go about solving this?
|
|
|

You had specified a "fltk.lib" library in the link options of the project settings. Its specified in
Project->Settings->Link tab-> object/library modules textbox.
But the compiler can't find the file. Its the problem. The solutions are.
1. If its an unnecessery library, remove it from the link options.
2. If its needed, then first find the location of the file using Windows File Search. Then take, Tools->Options->Directories tab, then add the path to the library path list.
Simple, Isn't it ?

Jijo.

hello everyone,
As I used CreateProcess() to run chkdsk.exe under winxp, chkdsk quits straight away..
whereas using ShellExecute() kept it running ...
here's the code for createprocess();
------------------------------------------
STARTUPINFO sInfo;
PROCESS_INFORMATION procInfo;
sInfo.cb = sizeof(STARTUPINFO);
sInfo.dwFlags = STARTF_USESHOWWINDOW | STARTF_USESTDHANDLES;
sInfo.wShowWindow = SW_HIDE;
Success = CreateProcess(
"C:\\Windows\\System32\\chkdsk.exe",NULL,NULL,NULL,TRUE,0,NULL,NULL,&sInfo,&procInfo);
-------------------------------------------
can someone explain this please?
Thanks in advance.

You're specifying the STARTF_USESTDHANDLES flag, but not assigning a value to the hStdInput , hStdOutput , and hStdError members of the STARTUPINFO structure.

hello DavidCrow,
Thanks for you reply.
I have actually specified these...just didn't bother to post it..im sorry
I have assigned the handle of hWritePipe to hStdOutput and hStdError, and NULL to hStdInput.
What im trying to do is shell chkdsk.exe and retrieve the content in the console window and display it in an edit box..so im using pipes to read data from console..
thanks again for your reply!

It's usually helps to supply all pertinent information up front so as not to create an unnecessarily long thread.

I gathered that much. I assume you have read through the MSDN article Q190351, and the one titled "Creating a Child Process with Redirected Input and Output".

how can I Append an AVI file in C++ ?
I can make interleaving of two video file but I can not append one in the other, can someone help ???
|

AVI is a kind of RIFF file format, to combine more than one avi file with your own code, you must know AVI file format in byte depth..
You can get enough information from search engines, like AVI header and, index entry table etc...
try these useful search keys; RIFF, avih, strh, strf, idx1, 00db, 00dc, 00wb, idx1

Thank you Erkan, I saw some of this headers but I was trying to use some simple, I am able to use the microsoft API for videos (vfw32, or video for windows), but this API seams to not work fine, or I am using wrongly because it always make the interleaving of all streams, and seams to discard the delay structure of the stream. If you know something of this kind or line I will be real greatfull, otherwise, Thanks.

when I add MsFlexgrid ActiveX to my VC workspace and make Execute from it .In other computer that Microsoft VC++ haven't be installed ,this program causes error.what can I do for it?
|
|
|
|
|
MsFlexgrid needs to be installed at other locations as well
copying the EXE alone won't work
use Depends.exe to find out the dependencies of ur EXE
then copy them also to the desired PC
Use Regsvr32 ro register the MSFlexGrid Control
That is why we need installers

We provide a DLL workspace to our internal users that allows them to update our core product / add new routines. The DLL links against the main EXE lib file and imports some routines / memory blocks from the executable.
For our latest release, somehow, the lib file we have under source control does not seem to be compatible with the executable. At least, if I use it to create a DLL, the DLL compiles and links OK, is loaded by the EXE OK, but under debug shows that the imported variables have not been imported correctly.
Does anybody have any ideas about how to track this? Ideally, I'd like to be able to create a DLL workspace including a lib file compatible with the EXE we've already released. I guess I'd need a tool that could tell me if a lib file is compatible with its EXE equivalent - anyone know of such a thing?
I have done a full recompile on the released sources and that produces internally consistent results - an EXE and lib file that can by used with the DLL workspace, but that lib file does not seem to be compatible with the released EXE either.
Help greatly appreciated on this one,
Dan

Anyone know how I can set the icon type of the list in a CFileDialog.
In the "View Menu" you can select eg "Details" and "Thumbnails".
In particular I'd like to set the list to "Thumbnail".
Anyone know how please?
I've thought of finding the list boxes ID, and setting the style, however what is the setting for the "Thumbnail" style?
Thanks in advance.

Anyone know of some freeware functions that do GetPixel and SetPixel on a CBitmap? I'm using CDC::GetPixel and CDC::SetPixel and they are sooooooooo slow. I've tried with a CBitmap myself but I don't understand quite how CBitmaps store their bits.
Any examples and/or pointers will be much appreciated.

Sorry if I wasn't making myself clear!
(1) I have a CBitmap and I'd like to find out what colour the pixel at x,y is.
(2) I'd like to set the pixel at x,y in a CBitmap to a specified colour.
I basically have the CBitmap OK, and can BitBlt it OK, but I'd like to access and change the CBitmap's pixels before I BitBlt the CBitmap.

Dear Jerry,
I think - first Get the whole bitmap data by calling GetBitmapBits () to an array, then process the array by using pointers and then setback the bitmap data by using SetBitmapBits (). I think it will increase perfomance. Then take care that allocate the array at heap using "new" operator.

Thanks. However how do I decode the bitmap bits into pixel colours, and then encode them back into bitmap bits? The number of bits used for each pixel vary according to the colour depth of the bitmap.

For finding the colordepth of the bitmap, Use
BITMAP bmpInfo;
bitmap.GetBitmap (&bmpInfo);
then bmpInfo.bmBitsPixel will give you the color depth. Now the rest is easy, you got how many bits are used to represent each pixel of the bitmap and you had the bitmap data with you.
Simple, isn't it ?

Jijo.
