Hi all!
In my application I'm using mnemonics for the control buttons but when I run it, they don't appear until I press Alt key. Could I see'em when I run the application and don't press the key anyway?
Thank you in advance!
I have no idea

That's a feature of the OS. You can turn it off in the Display properties (the exact location varies among OSes), it's called "Hide keyboard navigation until I press the Alt key" or something similar.

Hello,
I have a MDI application with 2 document types and I am using DundasSoftware's Tabbed View control.
On startup of my application I open 2 documents one is of CListView and the other is a CHtmlView. I force both views to Maximize (this way the user has to use the tab's to go between views/documents).
My question is, I only want the "x" (close button) on the child frame to be shown. I don't want the user to have the option to minimize or restore down the view/document.
I have tried OnPreCreateWindow to remove the MinimizeBox and Maximize box.. this works except it still shows the "RestoreDown" box... any Ideas??
Thanks!!!

Rob,
What you are getting is the standard behavior of CMDIFrameWnd. I suggest you remove the WS_SYSMENU style from CChildFrame::PreCreateWindow():
cs.style &= ~WS_SYSMENU;
You will have no buttons and no system menu. If you still want to be able to close a view you must provide another approach (maybe a toolbar button).

Hi everyone!
Is it possible to write different lines in a multiline Edit Box without pressing CTRL key + Enter anyway? I mean, could I write different lines only pressing Enter key?
Thank you in advance!

Yes, just use the ES_WANTRETURN style.

I'm trying to find how to use it, but I'm not lucky today
Could you show me an example for this command or tell me an URL where I could find it?
Thank you for your help

Hello,
I would like to know, if anyone has a good source of information (with examples) about plugin framework. I would like to build application which will be driven by plugins, and most of the code will be outside the main executable. I would like this code to extend/modify visually the main program and as functionality also. I can't find any good sources about this :/ This is really urgent, please help me,
Thanks in advance

I dont wish to be rude, but have you looked around CodeProject much ??
Len Holgate has this article http://www.codeproject.com/com/extensibleapps.asp[^] That Zac Howland has turned into a couple of articles - the first being http://www.codeproject.com/com/componentcategories.asp[^] ... these are all in the COM section on Codeproject (use the section navigation options on the left hand frame...) ..then, if you want to look at 'dll' as opposed to the COM way of doing plugins, there are a number of articles under the "DLL's" section.
Its really not that hard to find some info on what you're looking for - you just have to have some get up and go and not expect everything to be handed to you on a plate...sigh, the youth of today

Thanks for the reply,
No, I don't want somebody else to handle my project, that's why I asked for information on some kind of framework. I've looked over the dll's secton a long time ago, and I know about the 2 examples present there. I was trying to get as far as possible from COM
Thanks again

OK you dont want COM - in which case the 'framework' is 'whatever you want it to be'
The only other working instance of a plugin DLL 'framework' I know of is :-
http://csl.sourceforge.net/[^]
Its well documented and worth taking a look at..
I think wether you are using COM or not, to a certain extent you still have the same issues, but they are made easier or harder by your choice of implementation base - to some extent with DLL you have to be a bit more rigid in that every dll has the same functions with the same parameters unless you set up some sort or registration interface (isnt that COM ???) .. In COM, you can hide that and check the Component Category registry or query IUnknown to see if a particular interface is supported ...

It probably has to do with fonts. Make sure you are using a "standard" font that comes with Windows, and make sure you explicitly set the font of the edit box in question.

i think you need the right codepages on your system. changing your default codepage to the egyptian would make you see pyramids, birds and 2-d men dancing to "Rock The Boat".

Do you want to read in a stream of data or one line of string from a file? For one list of string, one solution is std::getline() and string object.
std::string sInput;
std::getline(cin, sInput);

Then use the '=' (assignment) operator.
