I've an application in which there is a form that insert data in some table. The problem is when i input some text having text with single quotes eg:- Don't, elicit error.
strsql="Insert into lead(" &_
"deal1,"&_
"agreementno1"&_
") values ("&_
"'"& x_deal1 &"',"&_
"'"& x_agreementno1 &"'"&_
");"
Set rs=objDataConn.Execute(strsql,,1)

Replace single quotes with two single quotes before passing.
eg:
<br />
Replace(x_deal1,"'","''")<br />
|
|
|
|
|
before insertting
x_deal1 = Replace(xdeal1, "'", "''")
x_agreementno1 = Replace(x_agreementno1, "'", "''")

I need some script to clear the values in controls in a table row and came up with the following. It seems a bit long winded and was just wondering if i'm being a plank? Any suggestions?? Easier way in javascript maybe??
<br />
Sub ClearTableRow(objForm,objRow,blnHide)<br />
For Each objCtrl in objForm<br />
If objRow.contains(objCtrl) Then <br />
Select Case objCtrl.type<br />
Case "text"<br />
objCtrl.value=""<br />
Case "textarea"<br />
objCtrl.value=""<br />
Case "select-one"<br />
objCtrl.selectedindex=0<br />
End Select<br />
End If<br />
If blnHide then<br />
objRow.style.display="none"<br />
End If<br />
Next<br />
End Sub<br />

On my site (see sig) I want to change the border of this inline frame I have on my website to something with rounded corners and do something with the scroll bar. I also want to change my navigation bar from the top under the banner to the side, so I would like some pointers on how to get that done and would fit for most resolutions (using whatever code). So if someone could maybe point me ni the right direction towards a web tutorial or whatever, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advanced.

This is pretty simple to do with a table, actually. Create a table in a 3x3 grid, put the corner images of the border in the corners of the grid, then set the background image of the edge cells to be the edge images of your border (to be expandable, the edge images will need to be repeatable).

One method is to just have a big table with the navbar in the left cell and the content in the right cell.
A more browser-friendly method (that doesn't abuse tables and renders incrementally) is to have the navbar be a floating div -- since you know the size of the banner image and the size of the navbar elements, you know the absolute pixel position of the upper-left corner of the div and the height and width. You can then set the left margin of the content to be as wide as the navbar.
That's just off the top of my head, so you may find some methods which are more comfortable.
There are lots of web communities to get basic layout and design tips; you may want to check out http://www.evolt.org/[^] for some good articles and tutorials.

Hi,
I did an autorun CD for my web application for easy installation. I have my MS Access database mdb file included as well. However when I did the autorun, the mdb file copied over from CD to PC had read access only. The web application therefore is unable to edit/delete/insert into the database.
How do I make the file updatable automatically without having to right click on it and modifying the properties manually?
Is there a command to change the access rights of the file in my .bat file?
Thanks!
Sincerely

The scenario is this - a Web Service that was developed on a XP box has been deployed on IIS 6.0 & Win2k3 m/c. The Win2k3 m/c also has VS.NET 2003 installed on it.
issue #1.
The web service needs to launch a third party process (lets call it abc.exe) to work properly. This step fails on the Win2k3 box. w3wp.exe is running under the default NETWORK SERVICE user privileges. Is there a way to enable/set privileges to the NETWORK SERVICE account so that the ASP.NET worker process has the ability to launch any/specific process? [i tried launching Notepad.exe thru the web service & it seems to launch this successfully.]
issue #2
i expected to debug the web service on the Win2k3 m/c via VS.NET but it fails with the message "... Unable to start debugging on web server. The project not configured to be debugged.". I verified the project settings between my XP & Win2k3 m/c & they are identical. Now i'm beginning to suspect that the Win2k3 default lock-down security is the culprit. Any pointers? I even added the user to the "Debugger Users" group as suggested in the docs to no avail.
Any help is appreciated. TIA.

In windows server 2003 , it doesn't matter whether you have changes worker proccess startup account in order to get higher privilage, there is some thing new in that, as you can see in the iis there is one Application pools node, the only things you need to do is to create a new pool and set the Local system account for that pool, then you can specify you website to use this pool, in home directory of your web site, and set the application pool property to use that one u created.
for issue #2 i think there should be something about server extention 2002 configuration, check it plz.
hope it works for u

Hello,
I have written an ASP page that send an e-mail server side using CDOsys library. How is possible to set the property "Read Receipt" used by Outlook and Outlook Express to permit to receive a mail when the destination reads the mail? I have found on internet that exist a property "urn:schemas:mailheader:Read-Receipt-To", I try to set this to the e-mail account of the sender but it fails (the mail is sent ).
I post the ASP code written in javascript.

This may be a dumb suggestion, but the first thing that catches my eye is the following typo:

I just did some research on the MIME headers required for read-receipts, and as far as I can make out this is all you'll need: (obviously depending on how the CDO mail component works, I haven't used it)
Instead of:
var cdoDispositionNotificationTo = "urn:schemas:mailheader:dispositon-notification-to";<br />
var cdoReturnReceiptTo = "urn:schemas:mailheader:Read-Receipt-To";<br />
<br />
<br />
objFields.Item(cdoDispositionNotificationTo) = strSender<br />
objFields.Item(cdoReturnReceiptTo) = strSender
You should be able to get away with the following:
var cdoDispositionNotificationTo = "Disposition-Notification-To";<br />
<br />
<br />
objFields.Item(cdoDispositionNotificationTo) = strSender;
I'm not entirely sure what the effect of (not) using the schemas is, but as far as I can see that should work... Good luck
[edit] You probably also need a semicolon after the "objFields.Item(cdoDispositionNotificationTo) = strSender" line - I see you don't have that in your code... [/edit]

I want to develop a program. This program will transfer a huge file from client machine to Web Server, and it should include the connection resume function like "GetRight". But I have no idea about it...
Anyone help? As I know, FTP should be common and can download from Internet, but what about the connection resume feature? I really do not have any ideas about it.

Probably not possible with a browser as your client.
I thought about this before...
If your browser could automatically upload files to servers without your consent, hackers could write a web page and extract files from your PC without your knowledge...that would be bad.
As far as having your user select the file again on their computer (if it was half downloaded and interupted or something) having the server side script resume where it left off would probably be impossible. I think the browser does the the uploading and is usually done so with HTTP not FTP so you probably don't have that freedom.
Cheers
