Windows 2000 = "Windows two thousand"

C plus plus. Most programmers I know say "win 2K" or just "2K" when referencing Win 2000.

I've understood that all the minimized windows can be grouped into a single bar, called taskbar just like the windows taskbar, but i don't know how can i make that the minimized windows don't have the restore button, and all the rest. So my question is how, can i build a taskbar into an app?, using the doking windows?, or how?

Here is my problem! I have three classes set up sort of like this:
class MainClass
{
CSocketClass * pSock; // instance of my socket class.
}
class CSocketClass
{
CSocketAddr * pObj;
};
class CSocketAddr
{
operator LPSOCKADDR()
{
return ( LPSOCKADDR )( LPSOCKADDR_IN )this;
}
}
When I call my MainObject->pSock->bind() [which uses my LPSOCKADDR override] and try to do some binding, the pointer this does not refer to the class I called it from, it points back to my main object! That is bunk! When I say "this" I want the class I am calling in. Is it just me?

Well, not anymore...
I got around this by not overloading operators and calling member funcs explicitly. It still p1ss3s me off though! I think the "this" pointer within a class should reference the class it is within.

I've Created a Internet Explorer Bar using vc 6.0.My project can run smoothly in Windows 2000,But in Windows Me,When I close IE,It will popup a error message which said "Iexplore have unknown error,will closed".
In my project,I use a MFC regular dll writed by myself,this dll has been tested ok.
Who can tell me what's the possible mistakes in my project?

The first one would be using Windows2000 api methods not available in Windows ME.

Hi all!
I made a dialog base application and wanted to use a class I wrote before. I copied the header file and the implementation file to the project folder and use "add files to project" option to add these 2 files. These 2 files are actually working files. However, when I tried to recompile the project, it kept giving me this error.

Compiling...
controllerList.cpp
D:\MyProject\MyPoint.cpp(188) : fatal error C1010: unexpected end of file while looking for precompiled header directive
Error executing cl.exe.
Does any one know what is wrong here?

You have to either turn off use of precompiled headers or enable your class to use precompiled headers.
To turn off Precompiled Headers got to the menu. Select Project -> Settings..., select the C/C++ tab. Select Precompiled Headers from the dropdown combobox. Here you select Not using precompiled headers.
To enable your class to use Precompiled Headers add
#include "stdafx.h"
to the top off you classes header file before all other #include statements.

I have a bitmap that I get from a third party decompressor of a video stream. The bitmap comes out at a resolution of 720*243 and 24-bits. I would to like to shrink it down and copy it to an offscreen bitmap that is 320*240 and 24-bits in order to speed up my motion detection algorithm and then blit that image to a screen without using the original image and StretchDIBits().
I believe I would want to create a CompatibleDC and a compatible bitmap to go with it then do a StretchDIBits to that CompatibleDC.
Am I right in this assumption and does anyone have some example code of how that is done?

You can also use CopyImage API function to resize the bitmap.
