Check the help file of eVC on the Data Access 3.0 or 3.1 topic. The GROUP BY clause is not supported by Pocket Access.

How do you programatically catch the power off button in an iPAQ 2200 Pocket PC using eMbedded Visual C++. Which event(s) should I monitor and which functions can use to check the Power Off button.
Any help is appreciated.

Try the RegisterHotKey function and listen for the VK_SLEEP key.

I'm writing a Pocket PC 2003 application in C#. I have what should be a simple requirement: I want to persist applicatoin options between sessions; the most logical place seems to be in the registry, but I can't seem to find how to do it.
There's the Microsoft.Win32, but this doesn't seem to exist in the .Net Compact Framework.
There's System.Runtime.InteropServices which allow me to call Win32 APIs, e.g., RegOpenKeyEx. I've used these before in desktop apps.
The Embedded Visual C++ Version 4.0 help says "Although the registry is directly accessible, accessing the registry through the metabase is the preferred method for updating settings. This is accomplished by using the CSP specific to the settings that require an update." But I can't find any guidance on how to call CSP.
Can some one give me a clue on where to start? What is the recommended method? And perhaps some sample code.

This is a nice looking library, and its free. Possibly the Configuration settings namespace is more suited to my needs - saves application configuration in an XML file, presumably in the application directory. This would be much better than the global registry database, which was one of the worse ideas (IMHO) Microsoft ever had.

I was pointed to some code that will allow me to raise some of the settings dialogs through my application. Here is the code:

So im trying to implement this in c# through the pocket pc os. I was attempting to use the Process class to create the ctlpnl.exe process, but it seems its not supported. Is there another way to implement this code easily?

for win CE you should use the following:
include windows.h and use following declaration...
#include <windows.h>
extern "C" void WINAPIV NKDbgPrintfW(LPCWSTR lpszFmt, ...);
use the function like:
NKDbgPrintfW (_T("%s(%i) : Warning : something went wrong here!\n"), _T(__FILE__), __LINE__);

If you are attached to the application (in debug mode) with the development tool, like eVC++ you can see all debug outputs in the output box of the development tool!

Not that I know, but you can create your own DbgView application for your device, like Paul DiLascia's TraceWin 4.0 .NET for the normal Windows OS.

i am newbie in using evc and also using wtl/atl...
this questions were in my mind for a long time.....
1.can i use atl classes too?as wtl is extension to atl....
2.what is the best way to show another form?for example by clicking a button....i know it in pure api but not in wtl...so how in wtl?
and also i always in pure call createdialog....can i also use createwindow...whats diffrence?
3.is there any good controls for using in evc?
for example color buttons,dialogs and things like this[for smartphone..ie in pure api or wtl(

Yes. Look at WTL 7.1: it now supports the embedded compilers (eVC3 and eVC4).

i mostly looking for controls for smartphone as smartphone doesnt support mfc i havnt find good things for it....
but by the way as it supports wtl so i think i can use some usefull controls here in wtl/atl section without a lot modification i guess..huh?
The very thing i am looking for is a control i can display texts with diffrent sizes and styles...something like richedit.....any thing?

Im curious, we are developing a c# compact framework application. It is imperative that the user verify the date/time of the device before using the application. I know of the api calls to set the system date and time, but its somewhat difficult because I've only been able to find a date control for the framework. Does anyone know of a way to use an api call to bring up the standard date/time settings page in the windows ce operating system?

when i compile any mfc application in evc 3
it compile succesfuly
but when i run it with pocket pc emulator
it will take two minute and then start emulator
but it will give time out error

For MS Smart Phone 2002, As I know eVB and eVC can be used. Will the programe have big different by using eVB or eVC to write?
