Thank you very much, Paul.
Can u please tell me also, how to insert a value into a label dynamically

Virtually any element can have it's inner contents changed with the following: document.getElementById("test").innerHTML = "message here";

Hi,
I have converted our production server to 2003 Server and
have one website that is giving me fits. I am getting the
following error on a CreateObject("scripting.dictionary")
command. The error is
Server object error 'ASP 0178 : 80070005'
Server.CreateObject Access Error
The call to Server.CreateObject failed while checking
permissions. Access is denied to this object.
I have found and followed the knowledgebase articles that
tell you to make sure IUSR_<servername> has read execute
acces to the msvbvm60.dll and it doesn't correct the
error. If I make IUSR_<servername> and member of the
administrator group it works. I have even tried to get
IUSR_<servername> full access to the C Drive and even that
doesn't work. Only thing that does work is to make the
user part of the Admistrator group and thas leaves a
security problem. Any ideas on how to fix the problem?
Thanks in advance.

Dear All,
the problem i'm facing is a very common one tht most of us encounter. I want to prevent multiple clicks of a button on my asp page. I tried to solve this using javascript by using a flag, but the problem is tht the page gets reloaded and the variable gets re-initialized. Is there any other way to do this? Can it be done using asp?
Plz help!

I don't exactly know what you want to do but here is my stab at a solution.
1. On the first click of the button you want it to become disabled to prevent the user clicking it again. So use JavaScript to set the button to disabled. That bit you seem to have sorted.
2. Using ASP, on post-back of the page set a cookie
3. On the same page check for the cookie. If it exists then either using JavaScript or ASP set the button to disabled.
The user could clear their cookie cache and then you will be back to square one. But there is no guaranteed method of permanently disabling a button.

r i s h a b h s,
Paul's has a good solution. If you don't want to use a cookie you can do something like this on the postback:
---- ASP Code ------------
dim sBtnDisabled
sBtnDisabled = ""
if Request.Form("submit") = "Submit" then
sBtnDisabled = "disabled"
end if --- HTML Code ------------
<INPUT type=submit value="Submit" id=submit name=submit <% =sBtnDisabled %>> Good Luck

If the form is small enough then you can use this technique.
Instead of making the button type=submit, just have it mapped to a javascript function which builds the URL from the form variables. The first line of code in the javascript function should be to disable the button.

Thnx guyz
I've uses a flag (counter) to check multiple clicks. The function returns without processing if counter exceeds 1.
i hope this works.

Hey,

<!ELEMENT Name (#PCDATA)>
<!ELEMENT Type (#PCDATA)>
<!ELEMENT Price (#PCDATA)>
<!ELEMENT Rating (#PCDATA)>
<!ELEMENT Cast (Actor+)>
<!ELEMENT Actor (#PCDATA)>
//XSL
<?xml version='1.0' encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<html xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-xsl" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/strict">
<body style="font-family:Modern; font-size:large; color:gold; background-color:teal" >
<Table border="1" width="50%" align="left" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="15">
<xsl:for-each select="VideoShop">

<xsl:value-of select="StoreName"/>
</xsl:for-each>
<TR width="25%">
<xsl:for-each select="VideoShop/Film">
<TD>
<DIV style="margin-left: 5%;">

</DIV>
<DIV style="margin-left: 9%">

</SPAN>
</DIV>
<DIV style="margin-left: 11%;">
<SPAN>

</SPAN>
</DIV>
<DIV style="margin-left: 13%;">
<SPAN>

<xsl:for-each select="Cast/Actor">

</DIV>
</xsl:for-each>
</SPAN>
</DIV>
</TD>
</xsl:for-each>
</TR>
</Table>
</body>
</html>
////////////////////////////////////
The problem is in the XSL i think, it doesnt print a list of the actors, only xxxZZZ howevery many times i put actors in that film
any help greatly appriciated

yes
the problem is with ur xsl.
you wrongly refering to the actor element
just replace the following code for ur Actor.
here ur are refering to the path Cast/Actor and again in value-of select also you are refering to "Actor" which is not correct. becuase when u refer to Cast/Actor it points to actor only so now u can just use a . (dot) to represent the same.
or u can use text() function to get the text value.
Actors:
<xsl:for-each select="Cast/Actor">
<DIV>
xxx<xsl:value-of select="."/>ZZZ
</DIV>
</xsl:for-each>
or
Actors:
<xsl:for-each select="Cast/Actor">
<DIV>
xxx<xsl:value-of select="text()"/>ZZZ
</DIV>
</xsl:for-each>

Hi,
I am using MSDE Deployment Toolkit (RC) to distribute the MSDE2000 along with my application. I worked great at the beginning. Later, when I run the MSDEBootStrap Setup, it installs the MSDE correctly, but it doesn't show up the main installation screen after installing the MSDE. When I try to invoke the setup again, it says MSDEBootStrap.exe is already running. When I close it and run again, then it doesn't recognize the already installed MSDE and asks for the installation again. When I click the MSDE install, it actually starts uninstallation. I don't know what would be the reason. I tried with installing latest toolkit & MSDE2000, but still getting the same problem.
Does anybody have any idea?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Murthy

i have a basic piece of HTML, including:
<A NAME='SPECIMEN1'></A>
near the top, and
<A HREF='#SPECIMEN1'>1</A> near the bottom.
when i open the HTML in IE6 the link works fine. however when i open the HTML in a IE6 control, described as:
Pointer to ActiveX COM object, in this case a IE explorer object.
in a comment in the C++ code, clicking on the link results in a white page with the single line:
blank#SPECIMEN1
at the top. inspired by the error message i have also tried <A NAME='SPECIMEN1'>fred</A> at the top of the HTML, but this produces exactly the same error.
does anyone have any ideas for what i can do to fix this? so far i haven't had any success at google
|
|
|
|
|
after this started to crash on valid HTML i have discovered the problem isn't with the HTML, it is somehow caused by the way the HTML is being fed into the IE control.
by using a different function to feed the HTML into the IE control both the crash and the HREF problem have been fixed
