I did a project on detecting plagiarism of code, and an algorithm that was useful for comparing files was Heckel's algorithm.
The original paper was "A Technique for Isolating Differences Between Files" and was published in: Communications of the ACM, 21(4), pg 264 - 268.
Its probably easiest to do a search on the web for Heckel's algorithm.
Hope this helps.

Anyone have a class to create multi-dimensional arrays of, for instance, CObject-derived objects?
Or is there already an MFC class to do this?
|
|
|
|
|
|
Isn't this just a single-dimensional array? What I have in mind is to do something like this:
CObject* pObj;
CMultiArray array;
array.SetAt(row,col,pObj);
pObj = array.GetAt(row,col);
or maybe something like this:
array(row,col) = pObj;
pObj = array(row,col);

Can anyone tell me how to check if the text in a CButton or CStatic had to be clipped as result of the size of the text exceeding the extends of the control.
I want to check runtime if the text in a button, static is shown completely.

Hi Everybody,
I wonder if any body could help with some code sample to show how it is possible to produce AVI files from the animated OpenGL view in an MFC application?
The basic idea is this:
- To capture the left mouse button while dowm and moving
it to capture the sequence and then produce DIB from
each move so then we could add them as single frames
into the AVI stream file and writing it at the end.
I know saying it is easy, but I've got to do this soon
Any help will really be appreciated and of course full credit will be given in the app for the same.
My app is a 3D graphic OpenGL/MFC based.
Thanks in advance,
Masoud

Hello All,
Does anybody know how to detect from the network if a particular machine has completely and totally locked up for good, as in you can leave it on overnight and it doesn't become unstuck?
I ask this because I could ping such a machine and find out from that, but sometimes Ping works even when computers hang. Does anybody have an idea? Thanks!

I did some shell programms and like to try windows now.
Can anybody tell me how to get the MainWindow?
I'd like to write the famous "Hello World" without any IDE
but use the GNU C++Compiler (gcc 2.95).
Would be great if anyone could tell me wer to find some
source code with comments for rookies.

How can you easily test for an active TCP connection (either LAN or DialUp). I would like to be able to check this in my code, so I can then connect or offer the user an option to dial-up - the same as in IE when it starts up.
Surely there is a simple way to do this?
|
|
|
|
|
Check out InternetGetConnectedState() on MSDN.
Cheers,
Paolo.

You can check for open PPP-(Point To Point Protocol) connections by calling RasEnumConnections() (see help for params). The function will return the number of active connections. If there is none, you can dial up one by calling RasDial().
Hope this will help you.

Pseudocode is code to demonstrate a concept, not designed to be run.
Like certain Microsoft software.

Has anyone have an idea if there is a Windows API to use in order to Enable/Disable the "Start->Shut down ..." menu in the windows task bar.
In my application, to use it, the user have to enter a code or have an access right.

I'm quite new to ATL. I want to know how to implement a C++ like class inheritance in ATL. I understood that we can implement an interface inheritance (e.g. Multiple Dual Interfaces) but this method would only expose one IDispatch to clients not using vtable binding.
Example: I want to have Shape object (or interface) then I want Rectangle and Ellipse objects to inherit the properties of Shape and implement/override methods like GetClipRect, Rotate etc.

Has anyone ever installed a network protocol driver (or any other driver for that matter) programmatically. Our application will require the addition of a network protocol we include with the release and we want to make the installation seamless to the user.
I already have an .INF file and .SYS (driver) file. What I need are some Win32 functions specific to NT which will use the INF file to install the driver. I'm trying to avoid having the user enter the Network Control Panel applet, accessing the Protocol tab and pressing Add Protocol.
Specific sample code would help greatly, but additional direction wouldn't hurt.
I've read all the documentation I can find on SetupDi* API functions, but can't quite come up with a solution which works.
Thanks in advance for ANY help.

I'd like to see some code for doing antialiased lines, polygons, etc., preferably using only GDI. OpenGL and/or DirectX methods would be good too, as long as they are simple and compatible with GDI-based apps

Please send me a link/code piece or full source how can I grab the whole desktop into memory?
I implemented a code what can get the desktop image to memory and it can grab about 2-3 times a second. (awful slow.) I'd like to grab all sizes of desktop and any colors.
(VC++, noMFC, WinNT4.0 SP6, source:1024x768x32, in memory 1 pixel=3bytes RGB and 1 empty byte)
Please reply me if only if you have faster solutions!!!

how do i change the BackGround color of a TitleBar ???

You'll need to handle the WM_NCPAINT message, and draw the title bar when that message arrives.
