Hi Satyajit,
The ItemCommand event fires pretty much whenever anything happens inside a Datagrid, so you'll want to trap for CommandName. Only process your Delete logic when the CommandName is "Delete". Is the PageIndexChanged event not also being fired?

Hi, I'm using Visual Studio to create dynamic web enabled database systems for work. The problem is they want me to use HTML tables soley so if somebody re-sizes their browser, the content will adjust in size with it as opposed to if you drag and drop controls on the form from the toolbox, it will not. It takes a lot of extra effort to create these tables and place the controls in them because you have to do it manually with raw HTML code. If you drag and drop a table in Visual Studio, it gives it coordinates etc. Am I doing this the hard way??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

You change the layout from in Visual Studio from default Grid Layout to Flow Layout using the Property browser so that everything you design will be in the tables.

Is there a round down function in asp. Can't seem find this function?
Any such function freely available out there?
Best Rgds,
Nickson
|
|
|
|

Hi Nickson,
Try:
MyNum = Int(number)
or
MyNum = Fix(number)
whichever is appropriate. This function returns the integer part of the number (in otherwords a round down)
Hope this helps,
Andy

I have an HTML frameset with 2 frames.
frame1 has a form which launches a cgi .exe program targeted to frame 2:
<form name="zzzz" action="http://zzzz/CGI.exe" target="CGIframe" method="POST">
cgi.exe writes this HTML to frame2:
<HTML><BODY>
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="VBScript">
Top.frame1.document.form1.button1.Value = "WHATEVER"
</BODY>
</HTML>
I get an "Access is Denied" error.
BUT!
if I that exact same HTML in a file, and have the frame1 form launch it instead of cgi.exe,
IT WORKS OK! to wit:
<form name="zzzz" action="http://zzzz/debugit.html" target="CGIframe" method="POST">
WHY is access denied if the html comes from a cgi program but NOT if it comes from a file?

Yes, they are side by side in the same directory on the same server.
I was ultimately successful by using method="get", rather than "post", with the cgi.exe. Why the hey would that make a difference in cross-frame accessibility???

Hi!
How can I make a table that has its cell separated by one-pixel lines? I only managed it to draw 2-pixel lines (1px-borders for each cell) but somehow couldn't get 1px lines work...
Can you give me a CSS definition for TABLE and TD to do this?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Dominik
_outp(0x64, 0xAD);
and
__asm mov al, 0xAD __asm out 0x64, al
do the same... but what do they do??
(doesn't work on NT)

Use padding or margin on your td elements to get the exact spacing you want. Remember that margin is outside border while padding is inside.

That will be the cellspacing attribute of
e.g.
<table border='0' cellspacing='1' cellpadding='2' bgcolor='black'>
<tr bgcolor='#ffffff'>
<td>Hello</td>
<td>One</td>
</tr>
<tr bgcolor='#eeeeee'>
<td>Hello</td>
<td>Two</td>
</tr>
</table>
Hope that helps,

You could use document.getElementById("myHTMLElement").innerHTML = varnamehere; .

We are currently investigating the use of SOAP as 'intermediate layer' between some complex modules.
.NET makes it very easy to create a 'Soap DLL' that is activated by IIS. Great.
However, we are considering to use this technology to access bigger server-style applications. These applications typically take several minutes to start up, handle a large amount of memory, and therefore cannot simply be recompiled into a kind of 'Soap DLL'.
Browsing through the Microsoft documentation I found an excellent AtlServer example that seems to do what I need. However, it would be much nicer if we could use the more modern .NET technology for this.
So here are the 'million-dollar'-questions:
- Is it possible, using .NET technology, to make a standalone .exe server-application behave like a SOAP-server via the HTTP protocol?
- Is it possible, using .NET technology, to make it accept SOAP requests via a message queue as well?
- If NO on the questions above, is using the AtlServer a step in the good direction or is ATL a dead-end?
- If YES on the questions above, where can I find good .NET examples on writing such a SOAP server?
Because I'm not sure in which forum to post it, I'll post it in 2 or 3 forums. Sorry if you get this multiple times.
Enjoy life, this is not a rehearsal !!!

When a file is being uploaded, especially LARGE ones, it would be really nice to have some sort of progress bar. For example www.websupergoo.com has a nice one developed in vb.net, but I'd like to know how to make one of my own.
If you or anybody you know has any information on the whereabouts of a tutorial, I, and MANY MANY others will thank you a LOT

If it just popups get a program that looks for spyware/adware. The best free one is Ad-aware. It constantly updates and can even delete ad files that are in use by restarting the computer and deleting them before non essential processes load. Info at http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Download at http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10045910.html?part=69274&subj=dlpage&tag=button
hope this helps

Hi,
I am reading input from the user into a text box &
On focus Lost from that box, i want to display a (Uneditable) result on the same page.
For this I thought of 2 options:
1) Label - I wanted to put my result into a Label. But i dont know how to change the label caption dynamically.
2) Textbox - I am able to display my result into the text box comfortably. But the textbox is editable. I dont want the user to meddle with it.
Some one can please help.
Thanks,
BSRK

input type="textbox" id="test" disabled="true"
The disabled="true" bit does the trick.
If you want to dynamically set that then use document.getElementById("test").disabled = true;

Thank you very much, Paul.
Can u please tell me also, how to insert a value into a label dynamically

Virtually any element can have it's inner contents changed with the following: document.getElementById("test").innerHTML = "message here";

Hi,
I have converted our production server to 2003 Server and
have one website that is giving me fits. I am getting the
following error on a CreateObject("scripting.dictionary")
command. The error is
Server object error 'ASP 0178 : 80070005'
Server.CreateObject Access Error
The call to Server.CreateObject failed while checking
permissions. Access is denied to this object.
I have found and followed the knowledgebase articles that
tell you to make sure IUSR_<servername> has read execute
acces to the msvbvm60.dll and it doesn't correct the
error. If I make IUSR_<servername> and member of the
administrator group it works. I have even tried to get
IUSR_<servername> full access to the C Drive and even that
doesn't work. Only thing that does work is to make the
user part of the Admistrator group and thas leaves a
security problem. Any ideas on how to fix the problem?
Thanks in advance.
