This sounds like it is being diplomatically negative. What you appear to be saying is that it doesn't matter being optimistic or pessamistic because "reality" will always kick you down again. Reading the next line in your previous post seems to confirm this hypothesis.

Well, it depends on what you do with that truth.

A pessimistic person will just sigh and think "Well, I knew that was going to happen". Well, if you knew it was going to happen - why let it happen? That's not just pessimism - that's insanity.

An optimist will look at the situation and learn from it, they'll say "That's interesting. I now know how to do better".
