I would like to add a new dataset to a database. I make sure the database is open and that CanUpdate() is true.
Anyway, if the database is empty CRecordset::Update provokes an exception which can not be catched with an try-catch statement.
As soon the database contains at least one dataset, the addnew -> update works without trouble.
Thank you very much for your help!

m_pT_Schluesseltexte->Update();<br />
}<br />

Hi
I am new in MFC.
I made a function.
I would like to create new header file which contains function definition.How to add newly created header file in existing file?

click in the 'Project' menu item, and then, 'add new file'... select what file type you want...
if you are using MFC, you function could be inserted into a class. right click on the class name in the class viewer, then, click on 'add function'...

Hello, I am making a program that allows me to view the files from a remote computer. and I have succeded in doing this. But I also need a function that finds a file on that computer and returns the path to that file to me via winsock. How can I make such a function because I searched in the sdk and there doesn't seem to be one. SO I need a function that can find a file and store it's path in a string so that I can send it to my comp via winsock.
Thank you for your time.
please reply

Aside from finding a file, are you familar with sending/receiving data through a socket? If not, perhaps a scan through some of the articles here will get you started.

Didn't your first post state that "I am making a program...to view the files from a remote computer. and I have succeded in doing this?" If you are finding remote files and can send data via sockets, what's the issue(s)?

i was under the notion that far pointer or near for that matter had faded into oblivion with the arrival of FLAT MEMORY windows 9x.
but recently while going through some source code namely winsock.h and winsock2.h i saw it had plenty of far pointers . gethostbyname() for example returns a far pointer to a struct.At the same time msdn tells that far pointers are obsolete. PLEASE comment
if u cant hack it race it or take it to bed then it aint worth having

You'll notice that the preprocessor resolves FAR to far and then resolves that to nothing. It is simply there for backward compatibility.

hi david
u said FAR gets resolved to far and far into nothing
and this is for backward compactibility.
i tried using far pointers and got this error (VC++)
#include <stdio.h>
int main(void)
{
char far * a;
char s;
a =&s;
printf("%p\n",a);
}
error C4226: nonstandard extension used : 'far' is an obsolete keyword
if FAR is used instead there is no problem. i included windows.h
if far is obsolete keyword the how is FAR handled
windef.h does something like this
# define FAR far
so hows the resolution done
if u cant hack it race it or take it to bed then it aint worth having

You must've missed this statement a little earlier on in the same file:
#define far

Far and far are there for backward compatibility as Winsock.h is used for 16 bit and Winsock2 for both.
If you open windef.h you can look for the definition of FAR

I implemented my own IID_IDocHostUIHandler because I needed my own ShowContextMenu method for my own context menu. By doing this I can recognize, if the user clicked on a link, text, image etc. and enable/disable several menuitems depending on the type of object I clicked on.
Now I want to implement my own "Save image as ..." method, but I have no clue how to get a reference to the picture I rightclicked.
Is there anybody out there who can help me? I searched with Google and the MSDN, but did not find anything.
Thanks a lot!

Use SendMessage API function with the WM_COPYDATA message

Yes, you need to send via WM_COPYDATA as stated above.

I need a software like the following:
This software can detect the other program running, it searches the system memory periodically.
Each program is stored on disk before running.
Each program has its own specific code on disk.
After it is loaded into memory and running by windows, this process memory has some specific code.
So, I need a software that can get the specific code on disk before running, and can scan the system memory and check the specific code in memory, and get this program HANDLE, and can terminate it.
How to do this thing.

I am writting by myself now. I can get all of the running process's HANDLE, and I can get all of each process's memory, but I don't know the relationship between specific code on disk and memory.
Can somebody give me some advice. Thank you.

About what? In other words, what specifically do you want to know about the PE format?

When looking for executables (processes) within windows there are a few methods.
Take a look at this for starters
