Hi Dave,
Thanks for this clarification. Can I set a value of this tooltip in the current verson?
I can't wait to get VS2005
Kindly yours,
Bonio

No. You can't touch it. You would have to make your own from scratch, but I odn't know where to start. The object model for the Visual Studio IDE is quite large.

Hi Dave, hi all
but the class member advice of VS seems to be a smart tag. (When you write myclass and then press dot a list of members open). So VS seems to support smart tags. Any help would be very appreciated. Best regards, Boni

That's Intellisense doing that. Smart Tag support will show up in VS.NET 2005...

I have a script which inserts a new record into a sqlserver database.
I have ListID as the primary key (autonumber). I need to find a way of returning this number once I have saved the first part of the record, as on the next page I save some other fields of the same record.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Cheers, V

Insert the record into DB using a Stored Procecure with one Out parameter. This will have the value @@Identity set in the stored procedure as follows.
SET @OutParam = @@Identity

I'm using VB.NET, I wonder...
1. How can I capture a specified area of screen ? User must be able to select the area they want to capture by mouse.
2. How can I set "Compressed" or "Encrypted" attribute to a file ?
3. How can I get the Icon List in an EXE or a DLL file ?
Thank you for helping!

I wonder how we can shutdown / restart / sleep down / suspend our computer using VB.NET?
Please don't tell me to use SHUTDOWN.EXE, it doestn't support sleep computer!
Thank you!
|
|
|

You would have to P/Invoke the SetSystemPowerState function in Kernel32. But! 8) You can't force the system to suspend or sleep whenever you want. The system and applications can deny your request, even if you set fForce to True.
Declare Auto Function SetSystemPowerState Lib "kernel32" ( _
ByVal fSuspend As Boolean, ByVal fForce As Boolean) As Boolean
The docs for SetSystemPowerState are here[^].
Alternatively, you could use SetSuspendState:
Declare Auto Function SetSuspendState Lib "PowrProf" ( _
ByVal Hibernate As Boolean, ByVal ForceCritical As Boolean, _
ByVal DisableWakeEvent As Boolean)
The docs for SetSuspendState are here[^].

how to merge a server file with another file using visual basic
i want merge it with a lot of extension exe , mp3 , wav , mid , bmp , jpg and other extensins
Lost & Forgotten
|
|
|
|
|
What do you mean by "merge"? Copy the files to another location? Or append one file to another? ...?

append one file to another like the servers merging to exe files or bmp files
Lost & Forgotten
|
|
|
|

The resulting file would not be usable until you took the files apart and put them back into the directory structure. You would need a method to sort out where the file boundries are in the composite file so you can determine where one file stops and the next begins.
Servers don't merge files together. Where did you get an idea like that?

i mean when we create a server file in hacking program we find a button that make merge to server file with another file to deceive the one will take the server
like in sub7 program there is an option to bind server with exe file

Sub7 is an hacker "tool" (Trojan horse, really) that allows someone to take over your computer, without you knowing about it.
Your talking about installing code into another .EXE. This requires in-depth knowledge of the PE executable format and how the Windows Loader works. Since this technique is used nearly exclusively by hackers and virus writters, no, I'm not telling you how to do it.

I have some figures which i store in label and textbox controls. I have used cstr(system.math.round(figure, 2)) to get it to round to 2 decimal places. What I can't find out how to do is to make it have 2 decimal places whether it needs them or not i.e. £ 24 would become £24.00.
Does anyone know a quick way that i can so this?

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a good reference that explains all the properties, functions, and classes of the DAO Reference Library? I am trying to learn how to use the Parameter Class and would like to read up on the rest. I have search google multiple times, but can not come with anything. I can't even find a good reference book at B&N. Thanks in advance.

That's because DAO has been obsolete for years now. The replacement is ADO inside the Microsoft Data Access Components. Since I can't get to MSDN now (DNS is failing), go to http://msdn.microsoft.com/data[^] and look through the docs there.
[EDIT]
You might also find the docs for DAO in the MSDN Library Archives. Go to http://msdn.microsoft.com/archive/[^] to see if they still have the docs...
