As I understand, the function addresses obtained using this way are not the real addresses. They just provide an offset of a member function within an object.
#include <conio.h>
class A
{
public:
int func() { return 1; }
};
void main(){
A x;
int (A::*ptr_to_method)() = A::func;
getch();
}
If for the above program you check inside Watch window of VC++ 6.0, the values of following variables
ptr_to_method
(&x)->func
It shows different addresses. Now which one is the correct address of function "func"?
Also I was not able to capture the value of "(&x)->func" inside program.

Also is there any way to find an address where the function ends?

That is normal. VC++ will import the bitmap and not show it. You can still use the bitmap resource in the project.

Hi.
I wonder if anyone can help with a problem that I am having ?.
I want to be able to create an MDI application that simply allows me to create text document(s) that I can edit and save/load.
I have tried using the AppWizard that ships with the above named software version, but it simply does not work.
After building the app. and running it, I create a new doc. and type the words 'hello there' in the 'new' doc. window, save it and reload, and all I get is the first character of the string plus four characters of rubbish.
I have tried to determine what is wrong but to no avail.
In desperation I re-installed a very old copy of VC++.6 and it works fine.
Does anyone know of any changes or prehaps new clauses that need to be added to either the view or document classe(s)?
Best regards.
James

Why don't you use VC++ 6
it is not old. it is just not the newest.

well the purpose is actually kind of stupid. I want that when I start for example VC++ winamp to start as well. So I can have music.
But I want to know how can I do this programaticaly.
How do I bind thei binary data or something. ones into the others'

This is a wierd thread. Im guessing you have someother motivation than starting winamp and visual studio together. Hopefully you are not trying to attach some trojan hourse to someones application. Your basic problem is that if you link 2 exes you will have two entry points to the new program. Take a look at the linker documentation and see if it can do what you want

This sounds like a job for CreateProcess() .
If you are wanting one EXE to be a resource of another, check out this article.

Hi,
Im creating a dialog box that uses tab controls. I dont want to use the MFC library. I have two questions.
1. When a tab is selected, is everything done automatically, or do I have to manually have to hide one set of controls and show another set (or something like that)?
2. What messages/notifications do I need to know about and deal with to get the tab functionality?
Thanks in advance
Zak
