thanks, but what if I want to open a form from the mainform and then set myform.text. How can I do that the best and most efficient way? Should I use "Friend" and if so, how do I use that?
thanks / Henrik

Dim nextForm As Form2
nextForm.Text = "Set some text here..."
nextForm.Show()
You really should take a look at this[^] article on MSDN.

I have an Access table that has a parent table named TBLBooks and several tables that relating to it.
What im trying to do:
I am trying to display the TBLbooks information on a set of textboxes and display the authors on a datagrid.
What I have accomplished:
I successfully displayed the information on the textboxes and added buttons to move around the Book records. (Using BindingMAnagerBase).
I also already added a relationship into the dataset (using BookID which is present in both tables TBLbooks,TBLauthors)
I was able to display the authors on the grid but it wouldn't move with the TBLbooks (textboxes).
THE PROBLEM:
I need to show the AUthors information on my grid and is should move or change with my textboxes. I can't use Rowfilter to filter the Authors information. I really need to make the relation work.
Is there any piece of code that you have that does just this?
*parent-child data relation with datagrid*
or ofcourse you could tell me how to do it.

Any one have time to help with school project? I am trying to create a random graph generator with a given proboility 0 < p < 1, probability that the edge exsist between to nodes in a graph (undirected and not weighted), using an adjacency matrix. I must then time the execution of DFS and BFS to see which perform best and show stats to prove it. I am having trouble with timing the algorithms and random generators for the graph....any ideas?
Thanks

how can i display only the required fields of a table in a datagrid using vb6.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Either u change the select statement with the required fields to be displayed in the grid
-or-
after assigning the recordset to datagrid's datasource property, make the unrequired columns width to zero.

Hi gurus,
I have a problem in programming thru VB and Oracle.
I have created a class Module thru which I am retriving Database fields
While retriving a particular Date Field, I am getting an Error 'Errors Occured' (Not for all Date Fields). When try to look Quick Watch in the value box it shows empty, if I try isnull(rs.fields(1)) it returns false, if I try isempty(rs.fields(1)) it returns false, if I try isobject(rs.fields(1)) it returns true
Please go thru it and help me

How do I resize the first column of datagrid control to be zero, so that it can work as ListViewItem.tag in listview control? Is there a way to hide the first column and set the with to 0?
Please help . Thanks.

you can resize the grid columns:
after filling the datagrid this line is to be added
datagrid1.columns(0).width = 0

Your question is vauge to say the least. Which is it? The chart program or winsock?
You chart question really depends on the graph your trying to make and what you want to support as far as options. Titles, axis labels, data ranges, auto scaling, log charts, line graphs, bar graphs, X/Y charts, Radar charts, ... There is no one algorithm that will encompass all of this. You really have to be more specific in what you want and do a bit of research and think about your design and what it will require before you start writing code.

That's a little vague. Where do you need direction? Are you already competent with Sockets, but need direction on audio and video streaming algorithms? Or do you already know about audio and video streaming algorithms, but need assistance with Sockets?

Yes.
AbuFahed wrote:

No, the C# part and the VB.NET part are compiled into different assemblies.
AbuFahed wrote:

Add the C# part to a solution. Add the VB.NET part to the same solution. If the C# part uses code in the VB.NET part then add a reference to the C# part referencing the VB.NET Project, and vice versa.
Does this help?

Hi i am new to vb .net and i don't know why when i load a transparent 32 bit png in a picturebox the transparent part of the pic remains visible like th e background color of the picturebox
I want to see only the pic and then i set at the form proprieties the transparent color white and the picturebox back color to white too. But i still see the background white but the form dissapears
Is tha transparency color stuff only for the form ? Not for the controls too?
Thanks for the replys!

Instead of using Form's Transparency key, use the MakeTransparent method of Bitmap class like this. It works fine.
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load<br />
Dim img As Bitmap = CType(Me.PictureBox1.Image, Bitmap)<br />
img.MakeTransparent(img.GetPixel(0, 0))<br />
End Sub
